Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT Network & Security Senior Specialist to join our dynamic team in Riyadh. This critical role is responsible for the strategic management, optimization, and security of our company’s IT network infrastructure, ensuring seamless operations, robust data protection, and compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and maintaining secure, scalable, and high-performance network solutions while proactively mitigating risks and aligning with organizational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

The IT Network & Security Senior Specialist will oversee a wide range of responsibilities, including:

• Network Operations & Infrastructure Management:
  • Lead the design, deployment, and continuous optimization of the company’s IT network infrastructure, ensuring scalability, efficiency, and alignment with business growth strategies.
  • Conduct comprehensive capacity planning to anticipate future network requirements and propose scalable solutions that support organizational expansion.
  • Implement and enforce robust security measures to safeguard network integrity, confidentiality, and availability, in line with industry best practices and internal policies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate network solutions seamlessly into the broader IT ecosystem, ensuring seamless interoperability and performance.
  • Provide expert technical support to end-users, addressing concerns promptly and professionally while maintaining high service standards.
• Network Monitoring, Troubleshooting, and Recovery:
  • Monitor network performance in real-time, identifying potential issues and proactively resolving them to minimize downtime and ensure uninterrupted business operations.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex network-related issues with efficiency, utilizing advanced diagnostic tools and methodologies to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with vendors and third-party providers to expedite issue resolution and maintain optimal network functionality.
  • Oversee data recovery procedures, ensuring critical information is retrieved, restored, and validated with minimal disruption to business continuity.
• Network Security & Compliance:
  • Implement and maintain comprehensive security measures, including regular audits, vulnerability assessments, and firewall configurations to protect against cyber threats.
  • Conduct routine risk assessments and contribute to the development of mitigation strategies to address identified vulnerabilities.
  • Ensure strict adherence to the National Cybersecurity Authority’s (NCA) Essential Cybersecurity Controls (ECC-2) and other regulatory requirements, maintaining compliance across all network operations.
  • Design and implement robust security architectures to safeguard organizational assets, integrating advanced technologies and industry standards.
  • Lead investigations into security breaches, coordinating response efforts, and implementing corrective measures to prevent recurrence.
• Policy Development & Documentation:
  • Develop, implement, and enforce policies, procedures, and strategic plans to enhance network security and operational efficiency.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation for network configurations, processes, and troubleshooting procedures, adhering to internal and industry standards.
  • Support the implementation of a clearly defined security incident response program to enhance organizational resilience and minimize risk exposure.
• Collaboration & Continuous Improvement:
  • Work closely with IT and other departments to integrate security best practices across all systems and processes.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends in network administration and cybersecurity, recommending and implementing relevant advancements to drive innovation and efficiency.

Qualifications & Requirements

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

• A minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in IT network administration, security, or a related field, with a proven track record in managing complex network infrastructures.
• In-depth knowledge of network protocols, routing, switching, and security technologies, including firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and endpoint security solutions.
• Hands-on experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Wireshark) and security frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, CIS Controls).
• Strong understanding of compliance requirements, particularly the NCA’s Essential Cybersecurity Controls (ECC-2), and experience implementing regulatory standards in enterprise environments.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g., Python, PowerShell) to enhance operational efficiency and security workflows.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and implement effective solutions.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities to collaborate with stakeholders, mentor junior team members, and present technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Relevant certifications such as CCNP Security, CISSP, CISM, or CompTIA Security+ are highly desirable.
• Proficiency in cloud networking and hybrid environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Cisco ACI) is a plus.
