Chief Accountant

Position Overview

Hyatt Regency Riyadh Olaya is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Chief Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. In this pivotal role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the financial integrity and operational efficiency of our organization by overseeing and managing all accounting functions, including accounts payable, receivable, general ledger, credit control, and related financial processes. Your expertise will be instrumental in maintaining accurate financial records, optimizing cash flow, and supporting strategic decision-making across the hotel.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Leadership: Provide strategic direction and leadership to the accounting department, ensuring compliance with local and international accounting standards, as well as corporate policies and procedures.
• Accounts Payable & Receivable: Oversee the timely and accurate processing of invoices, vendor payments, and customer billing, while implementing robust controls to mitigate financial risks and enhance efficiency.
• General Ledger Management: Maintain the integrity of the general ledger by ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately, reconciled promptly, and aligned with the company’s financial reporting requirements.
• Credit & Collections: Develop and enforce credit policies to optimize cash flow, minimize bad debt exposure, and maintain healthy relationships with clients and vendors.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare and present accurate, timely, and comprehensive financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses to senior management and stakeholders.
• Compliance & Audit Support: Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, tax obligations, and internal audit standards, while collaborating with external auditors to facilitate smooth and successful audits.
• Team Development: Mentor, train, and supervise a team of accounting professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional growth.
• Strategic Initiatives: Partner with the Finance Director and other departments to drive cost-saving initiatives, process improvements, and financial strategies that support the hotel’s long-term objectives.

Qualifications & Experience

• Education: Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or a related field, with a preference for candidates holding a Chartered Accountant (CA) certification.
• Experience: Minimum of two years in a Chief Accountant or Senior Accountant role within a large-scale operation, preferably in the hospitality, tourism, or service industry.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., ERP systems, QuickBooks, or similar), advanced Excel skills, and a strong understanding of financial regulations and best practices.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional problem-solving abilities, strong administrative acumen, and outstanding interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Language Proficiency: Fluency in English is required; additional proficiency in Arabic is a valuable asset.
