Role Overview
As an Associate Director within our Regulatory and Risk Advisory (RRA) team, you will assume a pivotal leadership position in the Middle East, driving the strategic development and execution of corporate treasury advisory services for our valued clients. Your role will encompass the leadership and management of transformative programmes, the review and implementation of treasury strategies, policies, and target operating models, as well as the optimization of cash/liquidity management processes, hedging strategies, and treasury systems selection and implementation. Key Responsibilities
In this dynamic and challenging role, you will be responsible for the following core functions:
- Strategic Leadership & Growth: Drive the growth and strategic development of the corporate treasury practice by identifying new opportunities, fostering innovation, and expanding revenue streams. Act as a trusted advisor to CFOs and Group Treasurers, influencing critical investment decisions and shaping enterprise-wide treasury transformation agendas.
- Client Engagement & Delivery: Lead and oversee complex client engagements, ensuring high-quality delivery, effective risk management, and alignment with strategic business outcomes. Your ability to manage diverse teams and drive large-scale programmes will be instrumental in delivering transformative solutions to clients.
- Revenue Generation & Business Development: Own and contribute to revenue generation by leading pursuits, shaping compelling proposals, and converting opportunities into successful engagements. Develop and execute go-to-market initiatives, craft market propositions, and contribute to thought leadership to enhance the firm’s visibility and positioning in corporate treasury.
- Market Influence & Innovation: Actively shape and influence the corporate treasury agenda by anticipating emerging trends, regulatory developments, and market innovations. Translate these insights into strategic recommendations and differentiated client solutions that drive competitive advantage.
- Team Leadership & Development: Foster a high-performance culture by leading, mentoring, and developing teams. Your ability to inspire and guide teams through complex challenges will be critical to achieving exceptional results and building lasting client relationships.
Ideal Candidate Profile
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven leader who combines deep technical expertise in corporate treasury with exceptional leadership capabilities. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of shaping strategy, managing treasury projects, and leading teams to deliver large-scale impact. Key attributes include:
- Technical Proficiency: A thorough understanding of corporate treasury, including In-House Banks, Payment Factories, POBO/COBO, cash pooling, liquidity forecasting, FX processes, and bank connectivity. Experience in treasury transformation projects, such as Target Operating Model (TOM) design, cash management, IHB, payment factory, liquidity forecasting, banking strategy, or Treasury Management System (TMS) implementation, is highly desirable.
- Systems & Technology Expertise: Strong technical knowledge of treasury systems, with hands-on experience in systems selection and implementation (e.g., Kyriba, FIS, SAP HANA, GTreasury, ION). Proficiency in financial modeling and financial risk management is essential.
- Commercial Acumen & Business Development: A proven ability to map client business requirements to viable business propositions, coupled with strong commercial acumen. Experience in driving business development, including RFP responses and client relationship management, is critical.
- Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions in complex environments.
- Communication & Leadership: Outstanding communication skills with extensive client-facing experience. The ability to lead by example, demonstrate integrity, and uphold the firm’s values and principles is non-negotiable.
Qualifications & Experience
To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications and experience requirements:
- Education: A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as Finance or Accounting, is required. Professional certifications such as ACA, ACCA, CPA, CA, or CFA are highly preferred.
- Experience: A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in corporate treasury or advisory within a leading financial institution or consulting firm. Extensive exposure to treasury systems (e.g., Kyriba, FIS, SAP HANA, GTreasury, ION) and advanced financial modeling skills are essential.
- Language Proficiency: Fluency in English is mandatory. Proficiency in Arabic or another regional language is considered a valuable asset.
