We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Finance Operations Specialist to join a leading investment management firm. Key Responsibilities
As a Finance Operations Specialist, your core responsibilities will include:
- Financial Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and review financial records, reports, and supporting schedules with precision. Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring they are accurate, complete, and delivered in a timely manner.
- Compliance and Regulatory Oversight: Ensure strict adherence to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), internal accounting policies, and regulatory requirements. Stay abreast of evolving accounting standards and regulatory changes to mitigate risks and maintain compliance.
- Account Reconciliation and Discrepancy Resolution: Perform detailed account reconciliations and proactively investigate discrepancies to maintain the integrity of financial data. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues efficiently and prevent recurrence.
- Month-End and Year-End Closing: Support the month-end and year-end closing processes by reviewing financial data, validating calculations, and ensuring all activities are completed in accordance with established timelines and procedures.
- Audit Support and Coordination: Assist with external audit requirements by preparing documentation, responding to auditor inquiries, and coordinating audit activities. Serve as a liaison between the firm and external auditors to facilitate a smooth and efficient audit process.
- Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate and organized accounting documentation and supporting records in compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards. Ensure all records are readily accessible and properly archived.
- Process Improvement and Controls: Support the implementation and enhancement of financial controls and processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability. Identify opportunities for automation and system enhancements to streamline operations.
- Alternative Investment Funds (AIF) Support: Contribute to the calculation and validation of Net Asset Values (NAVs) for Alternative Investment Funds. Assist in the preparation of regulatory reports for AIFs, ensuring compliance with applicable reporting requirements.
Qualifications and Experience
To excel in this role, candidates should meet the following criteria:
- Education: A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, or CFA are advantageous.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in financial operations, accounting, or a related field within the investment management or financial services industry. Prior exposure to fund accounting, regulatory reporting, or audit support is highly desirable.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in financial software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel). Experience with fund accounting systems or tools such as Advent Geneva, SS&C, or similar platforms is a plus.
- Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical abilities with a meticulous approach to reviewing financial data. Ability to identify discrepancies, resolve issues, and implement corrective actions.
- Communication and Collaboration: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels. A collaborative mindset with a focus on teamwork and cross-functional alignment.
- Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of IFRS, GAAP, and relevant regulatory frameworks. Familiarity with the requirements of Alternative Investment Funds and their reporting obligations is beneficial.
