Medical Advisor

Position Overview

We are partnering with a leading pharmaceutical company to recruit a highly skilled Medical Advisor – Oncology to be based in Riyadh. This pivotal role will serve as a bridge between scientific excellence and clinical practice, ensuring the delivery of accurate, evidence-based medical information to healthcare professionals, key opinion leaders, and internal stakeholders. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in oncology therapeutic areas, a strong understanding of the Saudi healthcare landscape, and a proven track record in medical affairs within the pharmaceutical industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Scientific and Medical Expertise: Develop and maintain up-to-date scientific and medical knowledge in oncology, ensuring alignment with global and local standards. Serve as the primary medical resource for internal teams, including Marketing, Sales, and Regulatory Affairs.
• Medical Engagement and Exchange: Facilitate meaningful scientific engagement with healthcare professionals, key opinion leaders, and medical organizations. Respond to medical inquiries with precision and clarity while adhering to company policies and regulatory guidelines.
• Clinical Presentations and Medical Support: Deliver high-impact clinical presentations tailored to diverse audiences, including healthcare providers and internal stakeholders. Provide medical support for patient access programs and formulary initiatives, ensuring compliance with global and local policies.
• Medical Affairs Leadership: Support the planning, execution, and completion of medical activities, including investigator-initiated studies (IIS) and observational research. Ensure all activities comply with relevant guidelines, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and ethical standards.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a medical expert in internal training programs, equipping sales and marketing teams with the scientific knowledge required to effectively communicate product value. Collaborate closely with Regulatory Affairs to ensure alignment on medical and scientific messaging.
• Conference and Meeting Participation: Represent the company at national and international scientific conferences, symposia, and advisory boards. Develop comprehensive summaries of key data, presentations, and symposium content to disseminate critical insights to internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Education: A medical degree (MD), Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD), or a relevant life-science qualification with a strong foundation in medical or pharmaceutical sciences.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in Medical Affairs within the pharmaceutical industry, with a proven track record in oncology medical affairs. Prior experience in the Saudi healthcare landscape is highly desirable.
• Technical and Soft Skills:
  • In-depth knowledge of oncology therapeutic areas, including emerging therapies and treatment paradigms.
  • Exceptional scientific communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, enabling effective engagement with external experts and internal teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple priorities.
• Regulatory and Compliance Awareness: A thorough understanding of global and local regulatory requirements, including Good Pharmacovigilance Practices (GVP) and Good Clinical Practices (GCP).
• Language Proficiency: Fluency in both English and Arabic is preferred, with the ability to communicate effectively in professional settings.

Additional Requirements

Due to Saudization policies, this position is exclusively open to Saudi nationals. Candidates must be prepared to relocate to Riyadh and demonstrate a commitment to contributing to the advancement of oncology care in the region.
