About the Role
Macro is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Technical Manager to join our Managing Agent team in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, based in Riyadh. This pivotal role will serve as the local technical representative, ensuring the delivery of safe, compliant, and high-quality maintenance services across our diverse portfolio. Reporting closely with the Dubai-based leadership team, the Technical Manager will oversee technical governance, supplier performance, operational inspections, and compliance assurance, driving operational excellence and sustainable asset management.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in managing technical service providers and specialist contractors, validating maintenance activities, and ensuring adherence to client expectations and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities
- Technical Operations & Governance:
- Oversee the day-to-day performance of technical service providers and specialist contractors to ensure alignment with contractual obligations and service level agreements (SLAs).
- Monitor and analyse KPI and SLA performance across all technical workstreams, implementing corrective action plans and service improvement initiatives where necessary.
- Conduct routine technical inspections and compliance reviews to validate the quality and safety of maintenance activities.
- Support governance meetings and supplier performance reviews, providing data-driven insights and recommendations.
- Technical Assurance:
- Validate maintenance activities, technical reports, and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) completion to ensure adherence to industry standards and client requirements.
- Perform plantroom inspections and asset condition reviews to identify risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Monitor contractor compliance with operational procedures, safety protocols, and maintenance standards.
- Support permit-to-work and safety management processes, ensuring all activities are conducted in accordance with regulatory and client-specific requirements.
- Escalate technical risks and operational issues promptly to mitigate potential impacts on service delivery.
- Compliance & Risk Management:
- Ensure full compliance with local regulations, client requirements, and industry best practices across all technical operations.
- Support audits, inspections, and assurance programmes to maintain high standards of operational integrity.
- Maintain accurate technical records, asset information, and compliance documentation in accordance with organisational and regulatory standards.
- Assist with business continuity planning and incident investigations to minimise operational disruptions.
- Stakeholder Management:
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with client representatives, service providers, and internal stakeholders to foster collaboration and alignment.
- Provide regular operational updates and reporting to senior leadership, highlighting performance trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Support mobilisation, transitions, and service improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Act as the local technical escalation point for complex issues, providing timely and effective resolutions.
About You
To excel in this role, you will bring a proven track record in technical facilities management, with a strong focus on supplier governance, contractor management, and compliance assurance. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience:
- Extensive experience within technical facilities management, building services, or a related field, with a deep understanding of MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) systems and maintenance practices.
- Demonstrated expertise in supplier management, contractor governance, and performance monitoring, with a track record of driving service improvements.
- Hands-on experience conducting technical inspections, compliance reviews, and asset condition assessments.
- Strong knowledge of KPI and SLA management, with the ability to analyse performance data and implement corrective actions.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build relationships across diverse teams and organisations.
- Prior experience within Integrated Facilities Management (IFM), Managing Agent, or outsourced FM environments is highly desirable.
- A recognised engineering qualification, along with certifications such as IOSH or NEBOSH (or equivalent), is preferred but not mandatory.
