Role Overview

As an HSE Inspector at Egis, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) compliance across all projects. Your responsibilities will encompass conducting thorough site inspections and audits to verify adherence to regulatory requirements and company policies. You will identify potential hazards, assess risks, and ensure that corrective actions are promptly implemented to mitigate dangers. This role requires a proactive approach to monitoring project activities, reviewing safety plans, and evaluating risk assessments to maintain a secure and compliant work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Compliance and Inspections: Perform regular site inspections and audits to assess compliance with HSE regulations, company policies, and international standards. Identify potential hazards and ensure that appropriate corrective actions are implemented to eliminate or reduce risks.
  • Safety and Risk Management: Monitor project activities to ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards. Review and evaluate safety plans and risk assessments for various projects, providing recommendations to enhance safety protocols.
  • Training and Awareness: Deliver HSE training sessions and awareness programs to staff and subcontractors, fostering a strong safety culture throughout the organization. Promote best practices and ensure that all personnel are equipped with the knowledge to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Incident Investigation: Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and recommend preventive measures. Prepare detailed reports on findings, corrective actions, and HSE performance metrics to support continuous improvement.
  • Regulatory Liaison: Act as a liaison with regulatory agencies to ensure all necessary permits and licenses are obtained and maintained. Stay abreast of changes in HSE legislation and implement necessary adjustments to company policies to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Emergency Preparedness: Assist in the development and implementation of risk management strategies for projects. Support the creation and execution of emergency response plans, including conducting drills and training exercises to prepare teams for potential crises.
  • Collaboration and Integration: Work closely with project managers and team leaders to integrate HSE practices into all aspects of operations. Provide guidance and support to ensure that HSE considerations are prioritized in project planning and execution.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, you must possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, with a specialization in construction, civil engineering, or a related field.
  • Relevant HSE certifications, such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or OSHA, demonstrating your expertise in health, safety, and environmental management.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in HSE roles, with a focus on building, road, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of local Saudi Arabian and international HSE regulations and standards, ensuring that all projects adhere to the highest safety and environmental benchmarks.
