Technical IT Project Manager (Construction Software & Mobile Apps)

Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced and forward-thinking Technical IT Project Manager to spearhead the development, deployment, and optimization of cutting-edge construction software solutions and mobile applications. This role is pivotal in bridging the technological and operational needs of the construction industry, ensuring that digital tools seamlessly align with the demands of site operations, infrastructure management, and PropTech innovations. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in managing complex software development projects, with a specific focus on construction-related technologies such as ConTech, BIM integration tools, and field reporting applications.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of IT projects, from initial planning to final deployment. This includes:

• Project Leadership: Oversee the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) for construction-focused platforms, mobile applications, and enterprise modules, ensuring alignment with business objectives and industry standards.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the primary liaison between technical teams (including software engineers, UI/UX designers, and QA specialists) and construction stakeholders or clients. Translate on-site operational needs into clear, actionable technical requirements to drive product development.
• Agile Project Management: Define project scope, manage sprints, prioritize backlogs, and ensure timely software releases while maintaining strict adherence to budgetary constraints and project timelines.
• System Integration & Quality Assurance: Lead the integration of software systems, coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT) with field teams, and guarantee high performance, security, and scalability of applications deployed in construction environments.
• Risk & Change Management: Proactively identify potential technical bottlenecks, scope deviations, or deployment risks. Develop and implement mitigation strategies to ensure smooth project execution and minimize disruptions.
• Reporting & Roadmapping: Prepare comprehensive, data-driven progress reports for leadership, highlighting milestone achievements, technical challenges, and strategic product roadmaps to guide future development initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a closely related technical discipline.
• Professional Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience as an IT or Software Project Manager, with a proven track record in delivering construction-related software, mobile applications, or PropTech solutions.
• Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), Agile and Scrum methodologies, API integrations, and cloud-based environments. Familiarity with modern development tools and frameworks is essential.
• Industry Insight: A solid understanding of construction workflows, site operations, and common industry challenges to ensure the development of relevant and impactful technological solutions.
• Tool Proficiency: High-level competency with project management and development tools such as Jira, Confluence, Trello, Asana, or Microsoft Project.
• Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to present complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
• Mobility: Willingness to relocate to Saudi Arabia, if not already based there.

Preferred Qualifications

While not mandatory, the following qualifications and experiences are considered advantageous:

• Certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional), PMI-ACP (Agile Certified Practitioner), or CSM (Certified Scrum Master).
• Prior experience working within the Saudi Arabia or GCC tech and construction markets.
• Background in fast-paced software startups or technology consulting firms, demonstrating adaptability and a results-driven mindset.
