We are looking for a meticulous and experienced Senior Payments Accountant to join our finance team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. In this critical role, you will oversee and execute the company’s payment operations with precision, ensuring full compliance with internal policies, financial controls, and regulatory standards. Your expertise will be instrumental in maintaining seamless cash flow, minimizing financial discrepancies, and supporting the organization’s financial integrity.

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Payments Accountant, your core responsibilities will include:

• Payment Review and Processing: Thoroughly examine invoices and supporting documentation to verify completeness, accuracy, and adherence to contractual terms and approved financial policies before processing payments.
• Payment Authorization and Execution: Prepare and review payment orders, ensuring all financial data is accurate and aligned with delegated authority levels. Process supplier and vendor payments while strictly monitoring due dates to prevent delays.
• Financial Recording and Reconciliation: Accurately record all payment transactions in the financial system, ensuring proper accounting entries. Conduct regular reconciliations of accounts payable, monitor open balances, and resolve discrepancies in collaboration with relevant departments.
• Expenditure Classification and Control: Review operating and capital expenditures to ensure correct classification and allocation to the appropriate cost centers, maintaining financial transparency and accountability.
• Liquidity and Treasury Coordination: Work closely with the treasury team to confirm sufficient liquidity before executing scheduled payments, ensuring financial stability and operational efficiency.
• Advance Payments and Settlements: Monitor advance payments and pending settlements to ensure timely closure and reconciliation, mitigating financial risks and maintaining vendor relationships.
• Reporting and Analysis: Prepare periodic reports on payment activities, including overdue payment analysis and actionable recommendations to enhance financial performance and process efficiency.
• Vendor Communication: Engage with vendors to address payment inquiries, resolve discrepancies, and settle outstanding claims promptly and professionally.
• Month-End and Year-End Support: Contribute to the month-end and year-end closing processes by preparing payment schedules, conducting reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with financial reporting standards.
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to automate and enhance accounts payable processes, improving data accuracy, reducing operational errors, and increasing overall efficiency.
• Compliance and Controls: Ensure strict adherence to internal financial controls, regulatory requirements, and company policies to safeguard the organization’s financial health.
