Asset Manager – CMDB

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Asset Manager – CMDB to join our dynamic team for a 12-month onsite contract in Saudi Arabia. This role is ideal for a professional with a strong background in IT Asset Management (ITAM) and Configuration Management Database (CMDB) operations, capable of driving excellence in asset governance, data integrity, and lifecycle management. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in optimizing our IT infrastructure by ensuring accurate, reliable, and up-to-date CMDB data, aligned with ITIL best practices and organizational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• CMDB Governance and Management: Oversee the maintenance, governance, and continuous improvement of the CMDB to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and compliance with ITIL standards. Implement and enforce policies, procedures, and standards for asset recording, updates, and audits.
• Data Quality and Audits: Conduct regular audits and assessments to validate CMDB data integrity, identify discrepancies, and implement corrective actions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve data anomalies and enhance data quality across the IT ecosystem.
• Asset Lifecycle Management: Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of IT assets, from procurement and deployment to retirement and disposal. Ensure seamless integration with IT Service Management (ITSM) processes, including incident, problem, change, and release management.
• ServiceNow CMDB Administration: Leverage hands-on experience with ServiceNow CMDB (or equivalent ITSM platforms) to configure, customize, and optimize the platform for maximum efficiency. Develop and maintain CMDB-related workflows, reports, and dashboards to support decision-making and operational transparency.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a liaison between IT teams, business units, and external vendors to facilitate clear communication, alignment, and collaboration. Translate technical requirements into actionable insights for stakeholders and senior leadership.
• Compliance and Best Practices: Ensure adherence to ITIL frameworks, ISO standards, and organizational policies governing IT asset management. Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes to drive continuous improvement.
• Training and Knowledge Sharing: Provide guidance, training, and support to IT teams on CMDB processes, tools, and best practices. Foster a culture of accountability and data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Qualifications and Skills

• Professional Experience: Minimum of 5–8 years in IT Asset Management (ITAM) and CMDB administration, with a proven track record in similar roles.
• Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with ServiceNow CMDB or comparable ITSM platforms, including configuration, integration, and troubleshooting. Familiarity with ITIL v3/v4 and Configuration Management processes is essential.
• Governance and Auditing: Demonstrated expertise in CMDB governance, data quality management, and audit processes to ensure compliance and reliability.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management abilities, with the capacity to engage effectively with technical and non-technical audiences alike.
• Certifications (Preferred): ITIL and ServiceNow certifications are highly desirable and will be considered a significant advantage.
• Location and Duration: This is an onsite position based in Saudi Arabia, with a contract duration of 12 months.
