Laboratory Technician

The Laboratory Technician is a critical role responsible for performing routine analysis in one of the divisions of our Clinical Laboratory and blood bank department, under the supervision of our Senior Medical Technician staff.

Key responsibilities include:

• Performing routine and moderate complexity testing and analyses according to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Quality Control (QC) assessments.
• Preparing specimens for testing and assessing their integrity prior to analysis.
• Maintaining accurate records of QC and patient results.
• Identifying and reporting technical or managerial deficiencies to the Senior Technician or Chief Technician.
• Participating in laboratory trouble-shooting and patient education processes.
• Adhering to quality system approaches and ensuring laboratory compliance with standards of practice.
• Validating and accepting laboratory results prior to release through the Laboratory Information System.
• Participating in the orientation and training of new technicians.

This role requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology or a related field, along with a minimum of two years of relevant experience. Fluency in verbal and written English, excellent interpersonal communication skills, and working knowledge of computer skills are also essential.

Working hours may include night shifts, rotating weekends, and holidays as per the department's organization.
