Information Technology Project Manager

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Information Technology Project Manager to oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of critical technology projects within our Oracle and Business Intelligence (BI) domains. This pivotal role reports directly to the Director of IT and is responsible for ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and in full alignment with quality standards. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong aptitude for managing project resources, schedules, risks, and stakeholder communications while maintaining meticulous documentation for compliance and HR records.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Execution

The Information Technology Project Manager will develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, including scope definition, work breakdown structures, resource allocation, and budget tracking. This role requires a keen eye for detail to monitor progress against milestones, identify deviations, and implement corrective actions to ensure timely delivery of Oracle and BI reporting projects.

Methodology & Delivery

This position demands expertise in Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum, to facilitate iterative development and delivery. The successful candidate will apply waterfall approaches selectively for specific project phases or requirements, ensuring all deliverables meet the defined Definition of Done (DoD) and quality benchmarks, particularly for live data products and reporting systems.

Stakeholder & Communication Management

Effective communication is paramount. The Information Technology Project Manager will facilitate daily stand-ups and weekly progress review meetings to track task completion, identify impediments, and align team efforts. Additionally, the role involves preparing and distributing regular status reports, risk logs, and updates for steering committees and key stakeholders to maintain transparency and accountability.

Documentation & Compliance

Meticulous documentation is a core responsibility. The Information Technology Project Manager will create and maintain comprehensive project artifacts, including project charters, requirements documents, user stories, test plans, and closure reports. All project documentation must be stored in designated systems, such as Azure DevOps, and remain accessible for audit and review purposes.

Risk & Issue Management

Proactive risk management is essential. The Information Technology Project Manager will identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues, maintaining a formal risk register and implementing contingency plans as required to minimize disruptions and ensure project success.

Team Collaboration

Collaboration is key to success. The Information Technology Project Manager will foster effective teamwork within cross-functional teams, including data engineers, BI developers, business analysts, and business stakeholders, to drive cohesive project outcomes.

Qualifications & Experience

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.

Professional Experience

• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in IT project management.
• Proven track record of managing Oracle-based data platforms and Business Intelligence or data warehousing projects from initiation to closure.
• Documented experience with Agile frameworks and project management tools, specifically Azure DevOps.
• 10+ years of experience supporting Oracle Retail applications.
• Deep knowledge of retail business processes.

Certifications & Skills

• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
• MBA (Projects) or Business Administration qualification is a plus.
