Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cost Control Manager to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for safeguarding the financial integrity of our projects by developing, monitoring, and managing comprehensive budgets. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring that all financial activities remain within projected parameters while optimizing resource allocation for maximum efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in financial management, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to proactively identify and address cost variances to maintain fiscal discipline.

Key Responsibilities

  • Budget Development and Management: Design and oversee detailed project and departmental budgets, ensuring alignment with organizational financial objectives and strategic goals. Your work will provide a clear financial roadmap for all stakeholders involved.
  • Cost Estimation and Forecasting: Prepare precise and comprehensive cost estimates for projects, incorporating all potential expenses, risks, and contingencies. Your forecasts will serve as the foundation for informed financial decision-making and resource planning.
  • Expenditure Monitoring and Tracking: Continuously monitor project expenditures to ensure adherence to budgeted allocations. By comparing actual costs against projected figures, you will identify variances and take timely corrective actions to prevent financial deviations.
  • Variance Analysis and Corrective Actions: Conduct in-depth analysis of cost variances, determining root causes for discrepancies. Your insights will enable the development and implementation of targeted corrective measures to mitigate financial risks and maintain budgetary control.
  • Financial Reporting and Communication: Generate and present detailed financial reports to senior management and key stakeholders. These reports will highlight critical metrics, emerging trends, and potential issues, facilitating transparent and data-driven decision-making.
  • System Implementation and Maintenance: Establish and maintain robust cost control systems and procedures to ensure financial accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards. Your systems will enhance operational effectiveness and reduce financial inefficiencies.
  • Risk Identification and Mitigation: Proactively identify financial risks that may impact project budgets. Develop and implement mitigation strategies to prevent cost overruns, ensuring projects remain financially viable and on track.
  • Contract Review and Management: Review and manage contracts to ensure compliance with financial terms and conditions. Address any cost-related issues promptly and effectively to safeguard the organization’s financial interests.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Foster strong working relationships with project managers, finance teams, and other stakeholders. Your ability to communicate financial insights clearly and collaboratively will ensure alignment and shared accountability for financial outcomes.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate cost control practices and processes to identify opportunities for enhancement. Implement innovative solutions to streamline financial management and drive operational excellence.
  • HSE and Incident Management Support: Contribute to the implementation of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) initiatives. Participate in safety awareness activities, incident reporting, and resolution processes in accordance with company policies and Integrated Management Systems (IMS) standards.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Professional Experience: Minimum of 15 years of relevant work experience, including at least 5 years in a managerial capacity. Prior experience in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region is highly desirable and will be considered a significant advantage.
  • Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is required. A background in accounting or finance is strongly preferred, providing the technical foundation necessary to excel in this multifaceted role.
