Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Financial Controller to join our organization. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate closely with Sales and Commercial teams to deliver financial insights, oversee performance, and manage risk, ensuring sustainable growth and the protection of cash flow and business value. Your expertise will be instrumental in driving profitable decision-making, supporting strategic initiatives, and maintaining robust financial controls.

Key Responsibilities

The Financial Controller will play a multifaceted role, encompassing the following core responsibilities:

• Commercial Finance & Performance:
  • Conduct thorough reviews of pricing strategies, commercial deals, offers, and partner agreements to safeguard profitability.
  • Collaborate with Sales teams to finalize deals and establish sales targets, incentives, and profitability benchmarks.
  • Analyze seasonality trends, product performance, and customer profitability to identify opportunities and risks.
  • Investigate underperformance root causes and develop actionable corrective measures.
  • Prepare comprehensive variance reports, explaining deviations from budget and forecast to stakeholders.
• Strategic Projects & Business Cases:
  • Lead financial evaluations of business cases for new products, initiatives, and investments.
  • Provide financial support for digital transformation and strategic projects through rigorous analysis.
  • Assess ROI, risks, and financial sustainability of growth initiatives to inform executive decisions.
• Credit, Cash Flow & Risk Management:
  • Partner with Credit Control, Sales, Insurance, and Legal teams to manage customer credit risk effectively.
  • Conduct financial health assessments of customers and recommend appropriate credit limits.
  • Monitor accounts receivable aging, Days Sales Outstanding (DSO), and cash flow, proposing mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure strict adherence to internal credit and risk policies to mitigate financial exposure.
• Commercial Risk & Controls:
  • Identify and mitigate financial and operational risks associated with contracts and market volatility.
  • Provide financial expertise during contract negotiations to safeguard the organization’s interests.
  • Design and maintain robust internal controls to protect assets and ensure financial accuracy.
• Stakeholder Engagement & Business Partnering:
  • Act as a trusted advisor to Sales and Commercial leadership, translating financial data into actionable business insights.
  • Foster alignment between finance and non-finance teams to support informed strategic decision-making.

  • Provide regular progress reports and initiate corrective actions to strengthen results.
  • Oversee budget monitoring and expense control to achieve optimal cost efficiency.
• Organizational Development:
  • Design organizational structures that align with current and future business requirements.
  • Ensure all roles are supported by clear job descriptions and are effectively deployed.
• Business Process Improvements:
  • Develop and implement well-defined systems, policies, and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Identify and pursue automation opportunities to streamline processes and reduce manual effort.
  • Leverage IT solutions relevant to the role and business, promoting a culture of automation and digital adoption.
