Business Continuity Consultant

About the Role

Muller's Solutions is looking for a seasoned Business Continuity Consultant to spearhead the design, implementation, and enhancement of our Business Continuity Management (BCM) framework. This critical role will involve close collaboration with business units and IT teams to ensure that essential operations remain resilient and recoverable in the face of disruptions, while strictly adhering to industry standards and regulatory mandates. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of experience in developing and maintaining robust continuity strategies that safeguard organizational stability and operational integrity.

Key Responsibilities

The Business Continuity Consultant will be responsible for a wide range of strategic and operational tasks, including:

• Framework Development: Design, implement, and continuously improve the Business Continuity Management framework, policies, and procedures to align with organizational objectives and regulatory expectations.
• Business Impact Analysis (BIA): Conduct comprehensive BIAs to identify critical business functions, assess dependencies, and determine recovery priorities, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
• Risk Assessment: Perform detailed risk assessments to evaluate operational resilience and identify potential threats to business continuity, providing actionable insights for mitigation.
• Plan Development & Maintenance: Create, update, and maintain Business Continuity Plans (BCPs), Crisis Management Plans, and Disaster Recovery procedures to ensure preparedness for any disruption.
• Training & Awareness: Organize and facilitate business continuity awareness sessions, workshops, and training programs to foster a culture of resilience across the organization.
• Exercise & Testing Coordination: Plan, coordinate, and execute business continuity exercises, tabletop simulations, and disaster recovery tests to validate the effectiveness of existing plans and identify areas for improvement.
• Continuous Improvement: Analyze test results and exercise outcomes to recommend enhancements that strengthen organizational resilience and adaptability.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with business stakeholders, IT teams, information security, and third-party vendors to ensure that continuity requirements are integrated into all operational processes.
• Compliance & Reporting: Monitor adherence to organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and international standards such as ISO 22301, while preparing comprehensive reports and dashboards for management and audit purposes.
• Audit Support: Provide expert support during internal and external audits related to business continuity and operational resilience, ensuring alignment with best practices and regulatory frameworks.
• Strategic Recommendations: Propose continuous improvements to enhance business continuity capabilities, ensuring the organization remains agile and prepared for emerging risks.

Qualifications & Requirements

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications and possess the following skills:

• Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, Risk Management, or a related field is required.
• Experience: A minimum of 8-10 years of hands-on experience in Business Continuity Management, Operational Resilience, Risk Management, or a closely related discipline is essential.
• Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of the Business Continuity Management lifecycle, including best practices for BIA, risk assessments, and plan development.
• Standards & Compliance: Strong familiarity with ISO 22301 Business Continuity Management Systems and the ability to ensure organizational alignment with these standards.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional analytical, communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills to effectively engage with diverse teams and leadership.
• Certifications (Preferred): ISO 22301 Lead Implementer or Lead Auditor, Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP), Certified Business Continuity Manager (CBCM), or ISO 31000 Risk Management certification. Project Management certifications such as PMP or PRINCE2 are considered a plus.
• Industry Experience (Preferred): Prior experience in government, financial services, telecommunications, or large enterprise environments is highly advantageous.
