Key Responsibilities

The Quantity Surveyor will play a pivotal role in ensuring the financial and contractual integrity of our projects. Your responsibilities will include:

• Measurement and Valuation: Conduct on-site and drawing-based measurements to assess valuations and variations as directed by your Line Manager. Prepare detailed measurements for contractor payments and accounting purposes.
• Bill of Quantities: Develop comprehensive Bills of Quantities for tendering and construction administration, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project specifications.
• Tendering and Contract Compliance: Oversee tendering procedures, evaluate bids, and ensure adherence to contractual obligations. Assist in the preparation and analysis of system-based Bills of Quantities to streamline cost management.
• Cost Estimation and Analysis: Accurately estimate material and labor costs, compare pricing from various suppliers and subcontractors, and provide competitive cost proposals. Prepare detailed cost comparisons to support procurement decisions.
• Budgeting and Appraisals: Develop interim and final development appraisals and budgets, ensuring alignment with project objectives and financial constraints.
• Contract Administration: Manage contract administration, including timely payments to contractors, verification of claims, and resolution of contractual or commercial disputes that may arise during the construction phase.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Attend monthly development team meetings, groundworker meetings, and design meetings to provide cost advice and construction solutions. Collaborate with clients, consultants, and contractors to ensure seamless project execution.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, you must possess the following qualifications and competencies:

• Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a quantity surveying or cost management role, with proven experience in dealing with consultants, contractors, and subcontractors.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit, with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.
• Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in both Arabic and English, enabling effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
• Analytical Skills: A keen eye for detail and the ability to analyze complex cost data to provide actionable insights and recommendations.
• Problem-Solving: The capacity to resolve contractual and commercial issues efficiently, ensuring minimal disruption to project timelines and budgets.
