About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Contract Manager to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of contracts, from initial drafting and negotiation to final administration and compliance. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring that all contractual obligations are met, risks are mitigated, and projects are delivered on time and within budget. This position requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of construction, procurement, and commercial management principles.
Key Responsibilities
The Contract Manager will play a central role in driving operational excellence through meticulous contract management and procurement support. Your core responsibilities will include:
- Contract Management:
- Lead the preparation, review, negotiation, and administration of a diverse range of contracts, including construction, design, consultancy, procurement, and service agreements.
- Develop and maintain standardized contract templates, procedures, and documentation to ensure consistency and efficiency across projects.
- Monitor contractual obligations, deliverables, milestones, and timelines to ensure adherence to agreed terms and conditions.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks to protect the organization’s interests and minimize disputes.
- Tendering & Procurement Support:
- Actively participate in tender planning, bid evaluation, and the selection of contractors and consultants to align with project requirements and organizational goals.
- Collaborate with procurement and technical teams to prepare comprehensive RFPs (Request for Proposals), RFQs (Request for Quotations), and tender packages.
- Review commercial and technical submissions to ensure full compliance with contractual and regulatory standards.
- Engineering & Project Coordination:
- Work closely with engineering, design, project management, and legal teams to provide expert contract guidance throughout project execution.
- Review technical specifications to ensure alignment with contractual requirements and project scope.
- Offer strategic contract advice during construction and development phases to resolve issues and optimize outcomes.
Qualifications & Experience
To excel in this role, you must possess the following qualifications and experience:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline from an accredited institution.
- Professional certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional), MRICS (Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors), CCM (Certified Construction Manager), or equivalent are highly desirable and will be considered a significant advantage.
- In-depth knowledge of construction contracts, with a strong preference for candidates familiar with FIDIC (International Federation of Consulting Engineers) contract standards.
- A minimum of 8 to 12 years of progressive experience in contracts management, construction management, or commercial management, preferably within the real estate development sector.
