Position Overview

The PFP (Passive Fire Protection) Engineer serves as the vital technical link between high-performance fire-resistant coatings and structural safety. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for ensuring that intumescent coatings are meticulously specified, rigorously tested, and correctly applied to prevent structural failure during fire incidents. Your expertise will transform intricate fire safety regulations into practical, actionable coating solutions that protect both human lives and valuable assets. This position demands a blend of technical precision, regulatory acumen, and a proactive approach to problem-solving in high-stakes environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Order Management: Oversee and manage orders for fire protection coatings, ensuring alignment with project timelines, specifications, and client requirements. Coordinate with procurement and production teams to maintain seamless workflows and deliver materials efficiently.
• Compliance & Certification: Ensure all fire protection solutions adhere to international and regional fire safety standards, codes, and regulations. Collaborate with certification bodies to obtain necessary approvals and maintain compliance documentation for products and applications.
• Technical Support: Provide expert guidance to clients, contractors, and internal teams on the selection, application, and performance of intumescent coatings. Develop detailed technical reports, specifications, and installation guidelines to support project execution.
• Project Estimation: Prepare accurate cost estimates and material take-offs for fire protection projects, considering factors such as substrate conditions, environmental challenges, and project scope. Present proposals that balance performance, cost, and regulatory requirements.
• Site Inspection & Quality Control: Conduct on-site inspections to verify the correct application of fire-resistant coatings, ensuring adherence to project plans and industry standards. Identify and resolve potential issues to maintain the highest levels of quality and performance.

Qualifications & Skills

To excel in this role, you must possess a strong academic foundation and hands-on experience in fire protection engineering. The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil/Structural Engineering, or Materials Science from an accredited institution.
• A minimum of five years of professional experience in fire protection engineering, with a focus on passive fire protection systems and intumescent coatings.
• Relevant certifications such as NACE Level 2/3 (National Association of Corrosion Engineers) or CFPS (Certified Fire Protection Specialist), demonstrating your expertise in coating inspection and fire safety standards.
• The ability to work in demanding industrial environments, including at heights, and a willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required by project demands.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in technical English, enabling you to draft formal fire-strategy reports, liaise with global certification bodies, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
