Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cost Accounting Manager to join our dynamic team at RAWAJ, a leading EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) telecommunication company based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing our cost accounting processes, ensuring financial accuracy, and driving strategic decision-making to support our company’s growth and operational excellence in the telecommunications sector. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in cost accounting, financial reporting, and telecom industry expertise, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve organizational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cost Management & Analysis: Develop, implement, and maintain robust cost accounting systems to track, analyze, and report on project costs, ensuring alignment with budgetary constraints and financial targets. Monitor variances and provide actionable insights to senior management to enhance cost efficiency and profitability.
  • Financial Reporting & Compliance: Prepare and present accurate financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual cost accounting statements, in compliance with local and international accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP). Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies to mitigate financial risks.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Collaborate with department heads and project managers to develop comprehensive budgets and financial forecasts. Analyze financial data to identify trends, opportunities, and potential cost-saving measures, supporting strategic planning initiatives.
  • Process Improvement: Identify inefficiencies in cost accounting workflows and recommend process enhancements to streamline operations, reduce redundancies, and improve data integrity. Implement best practices to enhance the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as a liaison between finance, project teams, and senior leadership to facilitate transparent communication regarding cost performance, financial risks, and opportunities. Provide training and guidance to team members on cost accounting principles and software tools.
  • Telecom Industry Expertise: Leverage deep knowledge of the EPC telecommunication sector to assess project-specific cost drivers, evaluate pricing strategies, and support competitive bidding processes. Stay abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes impacting cost structures.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing cost accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement. Assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide constructive feedback to ensure team success.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA, or ACCA) is highly desirable.
  • Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in cost accounting, financial analysis, or a similar role, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial capacity. Prior experience in the EPC telecommunication industry is preferred.
  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle), cost accounting software, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word). Familiarity with telecom-specific financial tools is a plus.
  • Analytical & Strategic Thinking: Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and translate it into actionable business insights. Strong problem-solving abilities and a results-driven mindset.
  • Communication & Leadership: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders. Proven leadership experience with a track record of building and motivating high-performing teams.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of local and international accounting standards, tax regulations, and compliance requirements relevant to the telecom industry in Saudi Arabia.
