About the Role
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Symantec DLP Engineer to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. In this critical role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing enterprise-level Data Loss Prevention (DLP) solutions using Symantec DLP technology. Your expertise will be pivotal in safeguarding sensitive data across multiple platforms, including endpoints, email systems, cloud applications, and network environments, while ensuring strict adherence to regulatory compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
As a Symantec DLP Engineer, your core responsibilities will include:
- Design and Implementation: Develop and deploy comprehensive DLP policies tailored to protect sensitive data across email, endpoints, cloud storage, and network channels. Ensure seamless integration with enterprise platforms such as Microsoft 365, SharePoint, OneDrive, and other critical systems.
- Data Classification and Monitoring: Classify sensitive data accurately and implement robust monitoring mechanisms to detect and prevent unauthorized access or data leakage. Continuously refine policies to minimize false positives and enhance detection precision.
- Incident Management and Remediation: Monitor DLP incidents in real-time, conduct thorough investigations into policy violations, and provide actionable recommendations for remediation. Collaborate closely with security, compliance, and IT teams to ensure a cohesive and proactive approach to data protection.
- Compliance and Governance: Support compliance initiatives by aligning DLP strategies with regulatory frameworks such as GDPR, HIPAA, PCI DSS, and the Saudi Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL). Ensure that all data handling practices meet the stringent requirements of these standards.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed documentation of DLP configurations, policies, and incident responses. Generate comprehensive reports to provide operational insights and support audits and regulatory assessments.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work collaboratively with stakeholders across the organization to promote data protection best practices. Serve as a technical advisor to IT and security teams, fostering a culture of security awareness and accountability.
Requirements
To excel in this role, you must meet the following qualifications:
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cybersecurity, or a related field is required.
- Experience: A minimum of 4 to 8 years of hands-on experience in Data Loss Prevention (DLP) technologies, with a strong focus on Symantec DLP administration, policy creation, and incident management.
- Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of data classification, information protection principles, and security governance frameworks. Proficiency in Microsoft 365 environments, including Exchange, SharePoint, and OneDrive, as well as endpoint security solutions.
- Compliance Expertise: Familiarity with regulatory compliance frameworks such as GDPR, HIPAA, PCI DSS, and the Saudi Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL). Ability to interpret and implement compliance requirements within DLP strategies.
- Analytical and Communication Skills: Exceptional analytical abilities to troubleshoot complex DLP issues and strong communication skills to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. A proactive mindset and the ability to work under pressure in a dynamic environment.
