Position Overview
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is a pivotal senior executive leadership role within our organization, based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the COO is entrusted with the critical responsibility of overseeing and optimizing the Company’s operational functions to ensure alignment with strategic objectives, institutional goals, and long-term growth initiatives. This senior executive position demands a seasoned professional with a minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in operational leadership, governance, and cross-functional management.
Core Responsibilities
The COO plays a multifaceted role in driving operational excellence, institutional efficiency, and sustainable business performance. Key responsibilities include:
- Strategic Execution and Operational Leadership: Translate the Company’s strategic vision and institutional objectives into measurable execution plans, ensuring seamless alignment across all departments, business units, and personnel. Lead the development of robust operating models that enhance institutional efficiency, governance, and execution discipline.
- Institutional and Operational Readiness: Establish the foundational framework for the Company’s operations by designing and implementing governance frameworks, regulatory compliance structures, policies, procedures, and organizational hierarchies. Ensure the availability of essential resources, facilities, and systems to support the commencement and sustained growth of the Company’s operations.
- Performance Management and Optimization: Oversee the day-to-day management of the Company’s operations, monitor departmental and business unit performance, and implement measures to enhance productivity, efficiency, and goal attainment. Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure operational success and drive continuous improvement.
- Compliance and Regulatory Stewardship: Ensure strict adherence to statutory, legal, and regulatory obligations, maintaining robust compliance frameworks across all operational activities. Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to mitigate risks and uphold the Company’s reputation and operational integrity.
- Strategic Planning and Policy Development: Contribute to the formulation of the Company’s overarching strategies, policies, and long-term plans. Translate these strategic directives into actionable operational plans, programs, and initiatives that drive sustainable growth and competitive advantage.
- Financial Oversight and Reporting: Supervise the Company’s financial, accounting, and control activities, ensuring accurate preparation of financial reports and statements. Coordinate with external auditors and relevant professional bodies to maintain financial transparency and compliance with approved authorities. Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to support informed decision-making.
- Business Development and Revenue Growth: Lead initiatives to identify, evaluate, and capitalize on new business opportunities, projects, and strategic partnerships. Assess feasibility, negotiate terms, and submit recommendations to the CEO and Board of Directors to drive revenue growth and market expansion.
- Risk Management and Business Continuity: Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate operational risks and challenges to ensure business continuity and the delivery of high-quality outcomes. Implement robust governance structures to safeguard the Company’s assets, reputation, and stakeholder trust.
- Stakeholder Communication and Reporting: Prepare and present periodic reports, insights, and recommendations to the CEO and Board of Directors regarding the Company’s operational, financial, and organizational performance. Ensure timely follow-up on executive decisions and directives to drive accountability and results.
Qualifications and Experience
To excel in this role, candidates must possess a proven track record of 10+ years in operational leadership, with a strong emphasis on strategic execution, governance, and cross-functional integration. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional leadership capabilities, financial acumen, and a deep understanding of regulatory compliance and risk management. A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Engineering, or a related field is required, with an advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., MBA, CPA, PMP) highly preferred.
