Manager of Commercial Contracts – Saudi Arabian Trading and Construction Company (SATCO)

Key Responsibilities

• Contract Development and Review: Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, including supply agreements, service contracts, and construction contracts, to ensure they are legally sound, commercially viable, and aligned with company policies and industry standards.
• Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure all contracts adhere to local and international legal requirements, minimizing exposure to financial, operational, or reputational risks. Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to address contractual disputes and mitigate potential liabilities.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a liaison between SATCO and external partners, including suppliers, contractors, clients, and legal advisors, to facilitate smooth contract execution and resolve any arising issues promptly and effectively.
• Contract Administration: Oversee the management of contract databases, track key milestones, deadlines, and deliverables, and ensure timely renewals, amendments, or terminations as required. Implement best practices for contract lifecycle management to enhance operational efficiency.
• Strategic Negotiation: Lead high-stakes contract negotiations with a focus on securing favorable terms, optimizing cost structures, and fostering long-term business relationships that support SATCO’s growth objectives.
• Performance Monitoring: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the effectiveness of contracts, identify areas for improvement, and recommend strategic adjustments to enhance value delivery.
• Team Leadership: Mentor and guide a team of contract specialists or coordinators, providing training and support to ensure high standards of professionalism and adherence to corporate governance.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• A bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field. A master’s degree or professional certification in contract management (e.g., Certified Commercial Contract Manager – CCCM) is highly desirable.
• A minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in commercial contract management, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership or managerial capacity within the construction, trading, or infrastructure sectors.
• In-depth knowledge of Saudi Arabian commercial laws, including the Saudi Contract Law, labor laws, and regulatory frameworks governing construction and trading activities.
• Proven expertise in contract drafting, negotiation, and dispute resolution, with a track record of successfully managing complex, high-value contracts.
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency in contract management software, legal databases, and Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel and Word).
• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex legal and commercial concepts clearly and persuasively.
• Fluency in Arabic and English is essential; additional languages are a plus.
