Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer

Position Overview

We are looking for a meticulous and experienced Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer to join our dynamic team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. In this pivotal role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the delivery of high-quality, reliable, and high-performance software applications. Your expertise in manual and automated testing, test planning, defect management, and collaborative problem-solving will be instrumental in maintaining our standards of excellence. Key Responsibilities

As a QA Engineer, your core responsibilities will encompass the following:

• Test Strategy and Execution: Design, develop, execute, and maintain comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts to validate software functionality, performance, and reliability.
• Testing Methodologies: Conduct functional, integration, regression, performance, and automation testing to identify defects and ensure seamless software operation.
• Defect Management: Identify, document, track, and verify software defects throughout the testing lifecycle, ensuring timely resolution and retesting.
• Collaboration and Validation: Work closely with developers, business analysts, and product owners to validate business and technical requirements, ensuring alignment with project goals.
• Automation Development: Develop and maintain automated test suites to enhance testing efficiency, reduce manual effort, and accelerate release cycles.
• Agile Participation: Engage in sprint planning, requirement reviews, and release validation activities to support iterative development and continuous delivery.
• Reporting and Documentation: Prepare detailed test reports, quality metrics, and release readiness documentation to provide stakeholders with actionable insights.
• User Acceptance Testing (UAT): Support UAT and production validation activities to ensure software meets end-user expectations and business requirements.
• Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and enhance QA processes, automation coverage, and testing standards to drive operational excellence.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To excel in this role, you must possess the following technical and professional competencies:

• Test Management and Reporting: Hands-on experience with tools such as Allure, qTest, or TestMo for test management and reporting.
• Test Automation: Proficiency in automation frameworks including Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or Appium to streamline testing processes.
• Testing Expertise: Comprehensive experience in functional, integration, regression, performance, and automation testing methodologies.
• Test Artifacts: Ability to create detailed test plans, test cases, test scenarios, and test execution reports to ensure thorough coverage.
• Defect Tracking: Experience with Jira, Azure DevOps, or Bugzilla for defect tracking and bug reporting.
• API Testing: Knowledge of REST APIs and proficiency in tools such as Postman or SoapUI for API validation.
• Version Control: Familiarity with Git, GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket for code repository management and collaboration.
• SDLC/STLC and Agile Methodologies: Solid understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC), and Agile or Scrum methodologies.
• Analytical and Communication Skills: Strong analytical thinking, troubleshooting abilities, and excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

While the above skills are essential, the following competencies will further enhance your candidacy for this role:

• Performance Testing: Experience with tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, or Gatling for performance and load testing.
• Programming/Scripting: Knowledge of programming or scripting languages such as Java, Python, JavaScript, or C#.
• CI/CD Pipelines: Familiarity with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps Pipelines for continuous integration and delivery.
• Database Validation: Proficiency in SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle SQL Server for database validation and testing.
• Application Testing: Experience testing web applications, mobile applications, and RESTful APIs across diverse platforms.
• Containerization and Cloud: Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Behavior-Driven Development (BDD): Experience with Cucumber or SpecFlow for BDD testing frameworks.

Education and Experience

To qualify for this role, candidates should meet the following criteria:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 to 11+ years in software quality assurance and testing, with a proven track record in Agile development environments.
• Certifications: ISTQB Foundation or Advanced certification is a plus, demonstrating a commitment to professional growth in quality assurance.
