Key Responsibilities

• Safe and Efficient Transportation: Operate commercial trucks to transport goods, materials, or equipment to designated locations while adhering to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies. Ensure the secure loading and unloading of cargo to prevent damage or loss.
• Route Planning and Navigation: Utilize advanced GPS systems and route planning tools to determine the most efficient paths for deliveries, minimizing fuel consumption and transit time while maximizing productivity.
• Vehicle Maintenance and Inspections: Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of your vehicle to identify any mechanical issues or safety concerns. Report any discrepancies to the maintenance team and ensure that your truck is in optimal working condition at all times.
• Compliance and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including bills of lading, delivery confirmations, and any required paperwork. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including hours-of-service (HOS) requirements and vehicle weight restrictions.
• Customer Service and Communication: Represent Marriott International with professionalism and courtesy when interacting with customers, vendors, and internal teams. Address any delivery-related inquiries promptly and maintain clear communication throughout the transportation process.
• Adaptability and Problem-Solving: Demonstrate the ability to adapt to changing schedules, weather conditions, or unexpected challenges on the road. Exercise sound judgment in resolving issues that may arise during transit to ensure minimal disruption to operations.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, you must meet the following requirements:

• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL): Possess a valid CDL with the appropriate endorsements for the type of vehicle you will be operating. A clean driving record is essential.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of professional truck driving experience, preferably in a logistics or supply chain environment. Familiarity with heavy-duty vehicles and long-haul routes is a plus.
• Safety-Conscious Mindset: A strong commitment to safety, including adherence to speed limits, defensive driving techniques, and proper vehicle handling. Knowledge of DOT regulations and company safety policies is required.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to lift, push, or pull heavy objects, as well as the endurance to sit for extended periods while maintaining focus and alertness.
• Technical Proficiency: Comfortable using GPS systems, electronic logging devices (ELDs), and other transportation management software to track deliveries and manage schedules.
• Team Player: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and external partners to achieve common goals.
