Position Overview

Parsons, a global leader in engineering and construction services, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Network Engineer (IP) to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. As a Network Engineer specializing in IP (Internet Protocol) networks, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and optimizing robust network solutions that ensure seamless connectivity, security, and performance across our organization’s infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Network Design and Implementation: Develop and deploy scalable IP network architectures, including LAN, WAN, VPN, and cloud-based solutions, to meet the evolving needs of the business. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with organizational goals and industry best practices.
  • Network Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Perform routine network monitoring, diagnostics, and proactive maintenance to identify and resolve issues before they impact operations. Utilize advanced tools and methodologies to diagnose connectivity, performance, and security-related problems efficiently.
  • Security and Compliance: Implement and enforce network security policies, firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and encryption protocols to safeguard sensitive data and mitigate cyber threats. Ensure compliance with local and international regulatory standards, including ISO, NIST, and Saudi Arabian regulations.
  • Performance Optimization: Analyze network traffic, bandwidth utilization, and latency to optimize performance and enhance user experience. Recommend and implement upgrades or modifications to hardware, software, and configurations as needed.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of network configurations, topology diagrams, and operational procedures. Generate regular reports on network performance, incidents, and compliance status for stakeholders and management.
  • Collaboration and Support: Work closely with IT teams, vendors, and third-party service providers to coordinate network-related projects, upgrades, and support activities. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and assist in training initiatives.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and competencies:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or a related field. Relevant certifications such as CCNP, JNCIE, or CCIE are highly desirable.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in designing, deploying, and managing IP networks in enterprise or large-scale environments. Prior experience in the construction, oil & gas, or infrastructure sectors is a plus.
  • Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of IP networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VLANs), routing and switching technologies, and network security frameworks. Familiarity with network hardware (Cisco, Juniper, Huawei) and software-defined networking (SDN) solutions is essential.
  • Soft Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, multicultural environment. Fluency in English is required; Arabic language skills are advantageous.
  • Certifications: Active certifications in network engineering, such as Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Juniper Networks Certified Internet Expert (JNCIE), or equivalent, are preferred.
