Planning Engineer

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Planning Engineer to join our dynamic team at KEO International Consultants in Riyadh. In this pivotal role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the successful execution of projects by developing, monitoring, and optimizing project schedules. Your expertise will be instrumental in maintaining project timelines, coordinating resources, and mitigating risks to deliver high-quality results within budget and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Scheduling: Develop, update, and maintain comprehensive project schedules using industry-standard software such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project. Ensure all project milestones, deliverables, and critical paths are accurately reflected and communicated to stakeholders.
• Resource Allocation: Collaborate with project managers and cross-functional teams to allocate resources efficiently, ensuring optimal utilization of manpower, materials, and equipment throughout the project lifecycle.
• Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and constraints, including delays, budget overruns, or resource shortages. Propose and implement mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions and maintain project momentum.
• Progress Monitoring: Track and report on project progress through regular updates, performance metrics, and variance analysis. Provide actionable insights to project teams and senior management to facilitate informed decision-making.
• Stakeholder Communication: Serve as a liaison between project teams, clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on project objectives, timelines, and deliverables. Facilitate clear and concise communication to resolve issues and keep all parties informed.
• Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and maintain detailed project documentation, including schedules, reports, and presentations. Ensure compliance with company standards, industry regulations, and contractual obligations.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance planning processes, tools, and methodologies. Recommend and implement best practices to improve efficiency, accuracy, and overall project performance.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and competencies:

• A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. A master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., PMP, PMI-SP) is a plus.
• Proven Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in project planning and scheduling within the construction, engineering, or consultancy sectors. Experience with large-scale infrastructure or industrial projects is highly desirable.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong command of project management software, particularly Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar tools. Familiarity with BIM (Building Information Modeling) and other digital planning platforms is advantageous.
• Analytical Skills: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities to interpret complex data, identify trends, and make data-driven recommendations for project optimization.
• Communication and Collaboration: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to liaise effectively with diverse stakeholders. Strong interpersonal skills to foster teamwork and resolve conflicts.
• Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in scheduling, reporting, and documentation. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of local and international project management standards, including ISO, PMI, or AACE International guidelines.
