Position Overview

alfanar Electric, a leading subsidiary of the alfanar Group, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Engineer for Product Development (Electrical, Data Center) to join our dynamic team based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Key Responsibilities

The Senior Engineer will be responsible for leading the end-to-end development of electrical systems tailored for data center environments. Your core duties will include:

• System Design & Innovation: Develop and optimize electrical distribution systems, including power distribution units (PDUs), uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), switchgear, and backup power solutions, with a focus on efficiency, reliability, and scalability.
• Product Development Lifecycle: Lead the entire product development process from conceptual design and prototyping to testing, validation, and commercialization, ensuring alignment with industry standards and customer requirements.
• Technical Leadership: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to deliver high-performance electrical solutions that meet stringent performance and safety benchmarks.
• Data Center Compliance: Ensure all designs adhere to international standards such as ANSI/TIA-942, ISO/IEC 27001, and NFPA 70 (NEC), as well as regional regulations, to guarantee optimal performance and safety in data center applications.
• Sustainability & Efficiency: Drive initiatives to enhance energy efficiency, reduce carbon footprints, and integrate renewable energy sources into data center power systems, contributing to alfanar Group’s sustainability goals.
• Vendor & Stakeholder Management: Liaise with suppliers, contractors, and internal stakeholders to source high-quality components, negotiate contracts, and ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
• Troubleshooting & Optimization: Diagnose and resolve technical challenges in existing products, propose improvements, and implement corrective actions to enhance system reliability and performance.
• Documentation & Reporting: Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications, test reports, and compliance certificates, while providing regular updates to management and stakeholders.

Qualifications & Experience

To excel in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and attributes:

• Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field; a Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., PMP, PE, or LEED) are highly desirable.
• Experience: Minimum of 8–10 years of progressive experience in electrical engineering, with at least 5 years dedicated to product development within the data center or power infrastructure sector.
• Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of electrical system design, power distribution, and data center infrastructure, including familiarity with software tools such as AutoCAD, ETAP, or Revit Electrical.
• Industry Standards: Strong understanding of data center design principles, electrical safety protocols, and compliance with international codes and regulations.
• Leadership & Collaboration: Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, mentor junior engineers, and foster a culture of innovation and excellence.
• Problem-Solving: Exceptional analytical and troubleshooting skills, with a track record of delivering practical and sustainable solutions under tight deadlines.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
