Role Overview
We are looking for a seasoned Platform Engineer to architect, develop, automate, and oversee enterprise-grade application platforms and cloud-native infrastructure. The successful candidate will possess deep expertise in CI/CD pipelines, containerization technologies, Kubernetes orchestration, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), configuration management, and platform automation. Your role will be pivotal in enabling secure, scalable, and high-performance software delivery across our organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Platform Architecture & Development: Design, build, and maintain robust enterprise platform infrastructure and developer platforms that support modern application delivery.
- CI/CD Pipeline Management: Develop, optimize, and manage end-to-end CI/CD pipelines to automate application build, testing, deployment, and release processes, ensuring rapid and reliable software delivery.
- Containerization & Orchestration: Deploy and manage containerized applications using Kubernetes, OpenShift, Oracle Kubernetes Engine (OKE), or Google Cloud Run, leveraging enterprise-grade container platforms for scalability and resilience.
- GitOps Implementation: Establish and maintain GitOps practices to automate application deployment and infrastructure management, enhancing consistency and traceability.
- Infrastructure Automation: Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or Ansible, ensuring repeatable and auditable deployments.
- Cloud & Virtualization Management: Oversee virtualization and cloud infrastructure environments, optimizing performance, cost, and resource utilization.
- Platform Monitoring & Optimization: Monitor platform performance, availability, and reliability, implementing continuous improvements to enhance operational excellence.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Development, DevOps, Security, and Operations teams to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performance platform solutions tailored to business needs.
- Security & Governance: Implement platform security best practices, governance policies, backup strategies, and disaster recovery plans to safeguard critical systems and data.
- Technical Documentation: Create comprehensive technical documentation, operational runbooks, and deployment standards to ensure knowledge transfer and operational consistency.
Required Skills & Experience
To excel in this role, you must demonstrate hands-on experience with the following technologies and methodologies:
- CI/CD Tools: Proven experience with GitLab or Jenkins for pipeline development and automation.
- GitOps: Familiarity with Argo CD for automated application deployment and infrastructure management.
- Code Quality & Analysis: Experience using SonarQube for static code analysis and quality assurance.
- Dependency Management: Hands-on experience with Renovate Bot or similar tools for automated dependency updates and security patching.
- Containerization: Proficiency in Docker or Docker Compose for building and managing containerized applications.
- Container Orchestration: Strong expertise in Kubernetes, OpenShift, Oracle Kubernetes Engine (OKE), or Google Cloud Run for deploying and scaling cloud-native applications.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Experience with Terraform or Ansible for automating infrastructure provisioning and configuration.
- Virtualization & Private Cloud: Knowledge of VMware vCenter or OpenStack for managing virtualized and private cloud environments.
- Linux & Scripting: Strong Linux system administration skills and proficiency in shell scripting for automation and troubleshooting.
- Cloud-Native Architecture: Deep understanding of cloud-native principles, networking, security, and platform engineering best practices.
Preferred Qualifications
While not mandatory, the following skills and experiences will enhance your candidacy:
- Cloud Platforms: Experience with AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) for cloud infrastructure management.
- Configuration Management: Familiarity with Helm or Kustomize for Kubernetes application deployment and configuration.
- Monitoring & Observability: Knowledge of Prometheus, Grafana, or the ELK Stack for real-time monitoring, logging, and observability.
- Secrets Management: Experience with HashiCorp Vault or similar tools for secure credential and secret management.
- Programming: Proficiency in Python or Go for developing platform automation scripts and tools.
- DevSecOps: Experience implementing DevSecOps practices to integrate security into the development lifecycle.
- Service Mesh: Knowledge of Istio or Linkerd for managing service-to-service communication in microservices architectures.
Qualifications & Experience
We seek candidates with a strong technical background and a passion for building scalable, secure, and automated platform solutions. The ideal candidate will have:
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 3–12+ years of experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, Cloud Infrastructure, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or Infrastructure Automation.
- Proven expertise in designing and operating enterprise Kubernetes platforms and modernizing legacy infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of GitOps, Infrastructure as Code, and cloud-native engineering principles.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments, with a focus on collaboration and iterative improvement.
- Exceptional communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills to bridge technical and non-technical teams.
- The ability to design and deliver secure, scalable, highly available, and fully automated platform solutions.
