Senior Staff Cyber Security Engineer - Riyadh, KSA

Position Overview

Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Staff Cyber Security Engineer to join our dynamic team in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In this critical role, you will be responsible for leading and executing advanced cybersecurity initiatives, ensuring the protection of our global infrastructure, products, and intellectual property. As a Senior Staff Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our security strategy, driving innovation in threat detection and response, and mentoring junior team members to elevate our collective expertise.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement comprehensive cybersecurity strategies aligned with Qualcomm’s business objectives and regulatory requirements. Lead cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of security measures across all systems and processes.
• Threat Intelligence & Risk Management: Conduct in-depth risk assessments, vulnerability analyses, and threat modeling to identify potential security gaps. Utilize advanced tools and methodologies to proactively mitigate risks and enhance our security posture.
• Incident Response & Forensics: Lead the investigation and resolution of security incidents, ensuring rapid containment, eradication, and recovery. Oversee forensic analysis to determine root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Security Architecture & Engineering: Design, implement, and maintain robust security architectures for Qualcomm’s products, networks, and cloud environments. Collaborate with engineering teams to embed security-by-design principles into development lifecycle processes.
• Compliance & Governance: Ensure adherence to international security standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, PCI-DSS) and regional regulations. Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and guidelines to maintain compliance and mitigate legal risks.
• Team Mentorship & Collaboration: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior and mid-level engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation. Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to promote security awareness and best practices.
• Vendor & Third-Party Risk Management: Evaluate and manage security risks associated with third-party vendors and partners. Conduct due diligence assessments and enforce contractual security requirements to safeguard Qualcomm’s ecosystem.
• Research & Innovation: Stay abreast of emerging cybersecurity trends, technologies, and threats. Drive research initiatives to explore cutting-edge solutions, such as AI-driven security, zero-trust architectures, and advanced encryption techniques.

Qualifications & Skills

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced degrees or relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH, OSCP) are highly desirable.
• Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in cybersecurity, with at least 5 years in a leadership or senior engineering role. Experience in semiconductor, telecommunications, or technology industries is preferred.
• Technical Expertise: Proficiency in security frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001), penetration testing, SIEM tools, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection. Strong knowledge of cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP) and DevSecOps practices.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to articulate complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders and influence decision-making at the executive level.
• Certifications: Preferred certifications include CISSP, CISM, CEH, OSCP, CCSP, or AWS/Azure Security Specialty.
