Senior PMO – Project Management Office Lead

Key Responsibilities

The Senior PMO will be responsible for overseeing the strategic direction of the Project Management Office, ensuring robust project delivery frameworks, and maintaining high standards of governance and compliance. Your core duties will include:

• Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement PMO strategies that align with organizational goals, enhancing project delivery capabilities and ensuring consistent execution across all initiatives.
• Governance & Compliance: Establish and enforce PMO standards, methodologies, and best practices to ensure projects adhere to regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies.
• Portfolio Management: Oversee the project portfolio, prioritizing initiatives based on business value, risk assessment, and resource availability to maximize return on investment.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a liaison between senior leadership, project teams, and external stakeholders to facilitate transparent communication, resolve escalations, and ensure alignment with business objectives.
• Performance Monitoring: Implement KPIs and metrics to track project performance, identify trends, and recommend corrective actions to mitigate risks and enhance delivery efficiency.
• Team Development: Mentor and coach PMO team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and professional growth within the organization.
• Process Optimization: Continuously evaluate and refine PMO processes, tools, and methodologies to drive operational excellence and adapt to evolving business needs.

Qualifications & Experience

To excel in this role, you must possess a proven track record in PMO leadership, with a minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in project management, portfolio management, or a related field. The ideal candidate will have:

• A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline. Advanced certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, or PMI-PgMP are highly desirable.
• Extensive experience in establishing and managing PMOs within large-scale, complex organizations, preferably in the IT, consulting, or digital transformation sectors.
• Strong expertise in project governance frameworks, Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid methodologies, with a deep understanding of project lifecycle management.
• Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels and drive consensus on critical decisions.
• Proficiency in PMO tools such as MS Project, JIRA, ServiceNow, or similar platforms, coupled with strong analytical and reporting capabilities.
• A results-driven mindset with a passion for driving operational efficiency, innovation, and continuous improvement.
