Position Overview
Parsons is seeking a seasoned and strategic Manager for Design (Power Infrastructure) to lead and oversee the design and development of critical power infrastructure projects in Riyadh. This role is pivotal in ensuring the successful execution of high-impact projects that contribute to the region’s energy infrastructure growth and sustainability. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in power infrastructure design, coupled with exceptional leadership and project management capabilities, to drive innovation, efficiency, and excellence in project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Leadership: Lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers, designers, and technical specialists to deliver power infrastructure projects from conceptualization to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Design Oversight: Provide expert guidance and oversight on all design aspects of power infrastructure, including substations, transmission lines, distribution networks, and renewable energy integration, while ensuring compliance with local and international regulatory standards.
- Technical Excellence: Collaborate with stakeholders to develop innovative and sustainable design solutions that optimize performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness, with a focus on advancing the region’s energy infrastructure goals.
- Team Development: Mentor and develop a high-performing design team by fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and professional growth, ensuring the team remains at the forefront of industry best practices.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, government agencies, and internal teams, facilitating clear communication, resolving conflicts, and ensuring alignment on project objectives and deliverables.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and challenges in project execution, proactively developing mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions and ensure seamless project progression.
- Quality Assurance: Implement and enforce rigorous quality control processes to guarantee that all design outputs meet or exceed industry standards, regulatory requirements, and client expectations.
Qualifications and Experience
To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., PMP, PE) is highly desirable.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in power infrastructure design, with at least 5 years in a managerial or leadership role overseeing large-scale projects.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in industry-standard design software (e.g., AutoCAD, ETAP, PLS-CADD) and a deep understanding of power system analysis, grid integration, and renewable energy technologies.
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage complex projects, and drive results in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and present findings to senior management and clients.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with local and international standards for power infrastructure design, including Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) regulations, IEC, IEEE, and other relevant codes.
- Language Proficiency: Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Arabic is a plus.
