To support this mission, we are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented IT Governance Specialist to play a pivotal role in implementing and maintaining digital governance policies while strengthening compliance across the organization.

Role Overview

As an IT Governance Specialist, you will serve as a key contributor to the development, execution, and monitoring of digital governance policies and procedures. Your responsibilities will encompass ensuring adherence to national and international regulations governing digital transformation, cybersecurity, and data governance. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to enhance digital maturity, mitigate risks, and promote a strong governance culture throughout the company. This role is ideal for a proactive professional with a passion for structured processes, compliance excellence, and the strategic alignment of technology initiatives with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Digital Governance & Compliance

  • Support the implementation and continuous monitoring of digital governance policies and procedures across all departments to ensure alignment with organizational and regulatory standards.
  • Assist in maintaining compliance with national and international regulations, including those related to digital transformation, cybersecurity, and data governance.
  • Participate in the development, review, and documentation of digital governance policies, frameworks, and technical standards to ensure they remain current and effective.
  • Monitor digital platforms and systems to verify compliance with approved governance requirements and technical standards, identifying and escalating any deviations.

Documentation & Records Management

  • Maintain comprehensive governance registers, digital records, policy documentation, and compliance indicators to support transparency and accountability.
  • Prepare and organize data for governance reports and audits, ensuring accuracy and completeness in all documentation.
  • Develop procedural guides, templates, and supporting materials to standardize governance processes and facilitate efficient compliance management.

Digital Maturity & Risk Management

  • Contribute to digital maturity assessments by collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement.
  • Track and manage corrective action plans to ensure timely resolution of findings from audits and technical reviews, minimizing operational risks.
  • Support digital risk management initiatives by documenting observations, monitoring remediation activities, and recommending preventive measures.

Reporting & Coordination

  • Prepare and present periodic reports on governance performance, compliance status, and progress of improvement initiatives to senior management and relevant stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with regulatory bodies, audit teams, and external partners to address reporting requirements and governance-related matters efficiently.
  • Monitor adherence to approved governance channels and operating procedures across departments, ensuring consistent application of policies.

Awareness & Transformation Support

  • Support the development and delivery of internal awareness programs to promote digital governance and cybersecurity best practices among employees.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of governance processes and the optimization of operational efficiency through continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure that governance and compliance requirements are integrated into digital transformation projects from the initial implementation phase, fostering a proactive compliance culture.

Qualifications & Competencies

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 2–4 years of professional experience in IT governance, digital transformation, compliance, or cybersecurity support roles, with a proven track record in implementing governance frameworks.

Technical & Professional Skills

  • In-depth understanding of IT governance frameworks, such as ITIL, COBIT, or ISO standards, and their application in digital environments.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret governance metrics, technical data, and compliance indicators to drive informed decision-making.
  • Proficiency in preparing clear, concise, and actionable technical and management reports for diverse audiences.
  • Experience working with enterprise systems, digital platforms, and compliance tools to support governance initiatives.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in documentation and reporting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and external partners.

Preferred Certifications & Training

  • Certification in IT governance frameworks such as ITIL or COBIT, demonstrating expertise in structured governance methodologies.
  • Training in ISO 27001 for Information Security Management, highlighting knowledge of security best practices and compliance requirements.
  • Completion of recognized courses in Digital Transformation fundamentals, IT Risk Management, and Digital Compliance to stay abreast of industry trends and regulatory changes.

Language Requirements

  • Fluent proficiency in both Arabic and English, enabling effective communication in diverse professional settings.

Performance Expectations

Performance in this role will be evaluated based on several key metrics, including compliance with digital governance policies, the timely closure of digital risk and compliance findings, the accuracy and completeness of governance records, and measurable improvements in digital maturity assessments. Additionally, contributions to process enhancements, stakeholder satisfaction, and the successful integration of governance requirements into transformation projects will be critical factors in assessing overall effectiveness.
