Quality Assurance Quality Control Engineer

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and results-driven Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) Engineer to oversee and ensure the highest standards of quality in all construction activities. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in maintaining compliance with project specifications, industry regulations, and international quality standards throughout the project lifecycle. Key Responsibilities

The QA/QC Engineer will be responsible for implementing and sustaining a robust Project Quality Management System (QMS) to uphold the integrity of construction works. Core duties include:

• Quality Assurance & Control: Conducting thorough inspections of civil, architectural, and fit-out works to verify compliance with approved drawings, project specifications, and applicable codes. Ensuring that all construction activities adhere to the highest quality benchmarks.
• Documentation & Reporting: Preparing, reviewing, and maintaining critical quality documents, including Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), Method Statements, Material Inspection Requests (MIRs), and Work Inspection Requests (WIRs). Generating accurate weekly and monthly quality reports to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
• Non-Conformance Management: Raising, monitoring, and closing Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) while ensuring corrective and preventive actions are implemented promptly to mitigate risks and maintain project standards.
• Collaboration & Coordination: Liaising with consultants, clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to facilitate seamless inspections, resolve quality-related issues, and align all parties with project quality objectives.
• Technical Review: Evaluating material submittals, shop drawings, and technical documentation from a QA/QC perspective to ensure alignment with project requirements and regulatory standards.
• Audit Support & Continuous Improvement: Assisting in internal and external quality audits, identifying opportunities for process enhancements, and implementing corrective measures to drive operational excellence.
• Site Monitoring: Overseeing on-site activities to ensure strict adherence to quality protocols, safety regulations, and industry best practices.

Qualifications & Skills

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline from an accredited institution.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience as a QA/QC Engineer, with a proven track record in construction projects. Prior involvement in building, commercial, healthcare, hospitality, or fit-out projects is highly desirable.
• Technical Proficiency:
  • Proficient in AutoCAD for reviewing construction drawings and technical documentation.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, for data analysis, reporting, and documentation.
  • Familiarity with document management systems such as Aconex, and experience with Oracle Primavera Unifier or similar platforms is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems and international construction quality standards.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and organizational abilities. Capable of working in dynamic, site-based environments with a keen attention to detail.
