Decima International is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Safety Engineer to join our dynamic team based in Riyadh. In this pivotal role, you will play a critical part in ensuring workplace safety, compliance with regulatory standards, and the implementation of robust safety protocols across our operations. As a Safety Engineer, you will be responsible for identifying potential hazards, conducting risk assessments, and developing proactive strategies to mitigate risks and enhance safety performance. Key Responsibilities

• Safety Compliance and Auditing: Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and assessments to ensure compliance with local and international safety regulations, including OSHA, ISO 45001, and other relevant standards. Prepare detailed reports on findings and recommend corrective actions to address identified gaps.
• Risk Assessment and Hazard Mitigation: Perform comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential hazards in the workplace. Develop and implement risk control measures, safety procedures, and emergency response plans to minimize risks and prevent accidents.
• Safety Training and Awareness: Design, deliver, and oversee safety training programs for employees at all levels. Promote a safety-first culture by raising awareness about best practices, emergency procedures, and the importance of adhering to safety protocols.
• Incident Investigation and Reporting: Lead investigations into workplace incidents, near-misses, and accidents. Analyze root causes, document findings, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Ensure timely and accurate reporting to management and regulatory authorities as required.
• Safety Management Systems: Develop, maintain, and continuously improve the organization’s Safety Management System (SMS) in alignment with industry best practices. Ensure the SMS is integrated into all operational processes and remains up-to-date with evolving regulations.
• Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, maintenance, and management, to integrate safety considerations into all projects and processes. Serve as a safety advisor to leadership and employees, providing guidance and support on safety-related matters.
• Regulatory Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for regulatory bodies, ensuring Decima International remains in full compliance with all applicable safety laws and regulations. Stay informed about changes in legislation and industry standards to proactively adapt safety practices.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and competencies:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field. A master’s degree or professional certifications such as NEBOSH, OSHA, or CSP will be highly advantageous.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in safety engineering or a related role, preferably within the industrial, construction, or oil and gas sectors. Experience in a multinational or large-scale organization is preferred.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of safety management systems, risk assessment methodologies, and regulatory compliance frameworks. Familiarity with safety software and tools for data analysis and reporting is a plus.
• Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Exceptional ability to analyze complex safety data, identify trends, and develop effective solutions to mitigate risks. Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving are essential.
• Communication and Leadership: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels. Strong leadership qualities to drive safety initiatives and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Language Proficiency: Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Arabic is a strong advantage.
