We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Interface Engineer to join our elite team at the King Salman International Airport (KSIA) – Terminal 6 Substructure Works project in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. As a key member of the joint venture team (AL-Harbi-CCECCKSA), you will play a critical role in delivering the iconic Terminal 6 substructure, leveraging cutting-edge precast construction technology and managing complex multi-stakeholder coordination. Key Responsibilities

As the Interface Engineer, you will serve as the primary liaison between the joint venture and all project stakeholders, ensuring seamless communication, alignment, and resolution of interface-related challenges. Your responsibilities will include:

• Cross-Stakeholder Interface Management:
  • Act as the JV’s central point of contact for all interface-related matters involving Bechtel’s design partners (Resident Engineers, LSC structural consultants, HSE team), Foster + Partners’ architectural team, the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), local utility providers (aviation fuel, telecom, water networks, SEC), precast component suppliers, and adjacent works packages (earthworks, superstructure).
  • Lead the initiation, tracking, and closure of RFIs (Requests for Information) for interface-related to-be-determined (TBD) items, following Bechtel’s established workflow: JV → Bechtel Resident Engineer → KSIADC → relevant stakeholders.
  • Facilitate and document weekly interface alignment meetings with Bechtel, Foster + Partners, and GACA to proactively resolve cross-package conflicts and ensure project continuity.
• Precast-Specific Interface Oversight (Project-Critical):
  • Coordinate with precast suppliers to conduct Factory Acceptance Inspections (FAI) for fair-faced concrete panels and structural precast beams, ensuring strict adherence to Foster + Partners’ aesthetic and dimensional tolerance requirements (±2mm for joint alignment).
  • Secure GACA approvals for precast component transportation routes through active airside zones and coordinate temporary traffic management plans for on-site deliveries.
  • Align installation tolerances for precast elements with Foster + Partners’ architectural grid and LSC structural requirements, and lead joint inspections for grout sleeve connections to verify structural integrity.
  • Escalate any precast damage or non-conformance issues to Foster + Partners and Bechtel immediately, and track corrective action closure to maintain project quality standards.
• Local Compliance & LCGPA Alignment:
  • Serve as the JV’s primary liaison with Saudi government entities for interface-related compliance, including the Ministry of Labor and Social Development (MLSD), Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE), General Organization for Social Insurance (GOSI), and Riyadh Municipality.
  • Ensure all interface activities comply with the Saudi Building Code (SBC) requirements, particularly SBC 301 (concrete structures), SBC 401 (precast concrete), and SBC 803 (lightning protection for aviation facilities).
  • Contribute to the JV’s Local Content & Government Procurement Authority (LCGPA) targets by maintaining Nitaqat Platinum rating compliance and documenting local content contributions from interface activities.
• Document Control & BIM Coordination:
  • Maintain the project’s centralized Interface Register, tracking all open, pending, and closed interface queries with clear ownership, deadlines, and status updates.
  • Manage interface-related submittals via Bechtel’s Common Data Environment (Autodesk Construction Cloud/BIM360), ensuring all interface models (architectural, structural, MEP, precast) are aligned to LOD 400 standards.
  • Prepare monthly interface performance reports for JV leadership, highlighting risk trends, closure rates, and mitigation plans to drive continuous improvement.
• Meeting Facilitation & Reporting:
  • Attend and minute key stakeholder meetings, including Bechtel Weekly Progress Meetings, Foster + Partners Design Coordination Workshops, GACA Security Briefings, and KSIADC Steering Committees.
  • Prepare concise and actionable meeting minutes, action item logs, and follow-up reports to ensure accountability and transparency across all stakeholders.

Qualifications & Experience

To excel in this role, you must possess the following qualifications and experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., PMP, CEng) is a plus.
• Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in large-scale infrastructure or aviation projects, with at least 3 years in a similar interface management or coordination role.
• Proven track record in managing cross-functional teams, resolving interface conflicts, and delivering projects within tight deadlines and budget constraints.
• Strong understanding of precast construction methodologies, BIM coordination (LOD 400), and Saudi Building Code (SBC) compliance.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with government entities, international consultants, and senior leadership.
• Proficiency in using project management tools (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project) and BIM software (e.g., Revit, Navisworks, BIM360).
• Fluency in English is mandatory; proficiency in Arabic is highly desirable.
• Willingness to relocate to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, for the duration of the project.
