Job Overview
As an Echocardiography Technician, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality cardiac diagnostic services to our patients. Your expertise in performing comprehensive 2D echocardiographic studies and measurements in adult patients will be instrumental in identifying abnormalities, forming preliminary differential diagnoses, and extending the scope of examinations to explore potential pathological conditions. This role requires a deep understanding of cardiac and thoracic anatomy, physiology, hemodynamics, and pathophysiology, ensuring that you can interpret echocardiographic data accurately and contribute to patient care with precision and confidence.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct Echocardiographic Studies: Perform full 2D echocardiographic studies, including obtaining standard views and measurements in adult patients, adhering to evidence-based practices and guidelines set by the American Society of Echocardiography and My Clinic’s policies and procedures.
- Identify Abnormalities: Recognize and document cardiac abnormalities, formulate preliminary differential diagnoses, and extend the examination scope to investigate potential pathological conditions thoroughly.
- Clinical Information Gathering: Obtain relevant clinical information from patients, physicians, and patient records, including cardiac-related physical findings and laboratory data. Apply appropriate sonographic techniques to acquire comprehensive and diagnostic echocardiographic information.
- Anatomical and Physiological Knowledge: Maintain a detailed understanding of cardiac and thoracic anatomy, physiology, hemodynamics, embryology, tomographic anatomy, and pathophysiology to accurately interpret echocardiographic data and quantify derived parameters.
- Departmental Collaboration: Participate in assigned task forces and complete work-related assignments, such as census reporting, typing, and scanning of reports, to support the Cardiology department’s operations.
- Shift Flexibility: Demonstrate flexibility to work various shifts and in different areas within the Cardiology department to meet the evolving needs of My Clinic.
- Safety and Infection Control: Ensure a maximum safe environment for patients, families, and staff by maintaining safe equipment and instruments and strictly adhering to infection control procedures and guidelines.
- Professional Relationships: Foster and maintain professional working relationships with colleagues and healthcare professionals, promoting a culture of respect, diversity, and inclusivity that aligns with My Clinic’s mission and vision. Adhere to all rules and regulations established by the Human Resources department.
- Patient Advocacy and Confidentiality: Act as an advocate for patients, protecting and promoting their rights to autonomy, respect, privacy, dignity, and cultural and religious beliefs. Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information and ensure it is not disclosed to unauthorized individuals.
- Continuous Education: Attend and participate in educational activities and contribute to the orientation and ongoing education of new echocardiography technicians and cardiac sonographers.
- Shift Reporting: Receive and provide pertinent information to the clinical team regarding patient conditions through shift reports (verbal and written) in accordance with My Clinic’s standards to ensure continuity of care.
Qualifications and Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Echocardiography/Cardiovascular Technology, Radiology, or Nursing with a professional certificate in Echocardiography/Cardiovascular Technology.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in echocardiography or cardiac sonography.
- Licensure: Valid license from the Saudi Council for Health Specialists.
