Position Overview

We are seeking a meticulous and proactive Specialist, General Accounting to join our dynamic finance team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for executing general accounting activities with precision, ensuring the accurate recording and processing of all financial transactions related to the Fund. Your contributions will directly support the preparation of periodic financial reports, enabling informed decision-making and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities

The Specialist, General Accounting will play a pivotal role in maintaining the integrity of our financial records and ensuring timely reporting. Your core responsibilities will include:

• Monthly and Quarterly Closing Activities: Execute and coordinate monthly and quarterly closing activities, particularly for payroll expenses and accruals, in collaboration with relevant business units. Ensure the accurate preparation of journal entries and timely reflection in the general ledger to support financial reporting.
• General Ledger Management: Support the daily management of general and subsidiary ledgers by recording, validating, and reconciling financial transactions. Maintain the accuracy and integrity of financial records to ensure compliance with accounting standards.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring all disclosures are accurate, complete, and compliant with International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), and internal policies. Provide clear and concise financial insights to support leadership in planning, budgeting, and performance monitoring.
• Variance Analysis and Issue Resolution: Analyze unusual variances and deviations in accounting activities, identifying root causes and providing actionable recommendations to resolve discrepancies and enhance accuracy.
• Risk and Control Management: Identify operational risks, gaps, or control weaknesses within general accounting activities and escalate them with well-documented corrective recommendations to strengthen governance and financial accountability.
• Policy and Procedure Enhancement: Contribute to the continuous improvement of EF’s accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure robust financial governance and compliance.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with finance colleagues, auditors, and cross-functional teams to ensure seamless financial information flow and alignment on accounting outputs. Communicate financial results, adjustments, and observations clearly and professionally to internal and external stakeholders.
• Audit Support: Assist internal and external auditors by preparing and organizing required documentation accurately and comprehensively, facilitating efficient audit processes.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, you will bring the following qualifications and competencies:

• Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. A Master’s degree in a relevant discipline is preferred and will be considered an asset.
