Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Design Manager in KSA, your core responsibilities will include:

• Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement design strategies that align with AtkinsRéalis’ business goals and the unique requirements of the KSA market. Ensure that all design projects adhere to industry best practices, regulatory standards, and client specifications.
• Team Management: Lead, mentor, and inspire a multidisciplinary team of designers, architects, and engineers. Foster a culture of creativity, accountability, and continuous improvement while ensuring the delivery of high-quality design outputs.
• Project Oversight: Oversee the end-to-end management of design projects, from conceptualization to completion. This includes budgeting, scheduling, resource allocation, and risk management to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest standards.
• Client Engagement: Act as the primary point of contact for key clients, understanding their needs, and translating them into actionable design solutions. Build and maintain strong client relationships to drive repeat business and long-term partnerships.
• Innovation and Sustainability: Champion innovative design approaches and sustainable practices to meet the growing demand for environmentally responsible solutions in KSA. Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes to ensure our designs remain at the forefront of the market.
• Collaboration and Integration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, construction, and procurement, to ensure seamless integration of design solutions. Facilitate effective communication and coordination to overcome challenges and deliver cohesive project outcomes.
• Quality Assurance: Implement robust quality control processes to ensure all design deliverables meet or exceed client expectations and industry standards. Conduct regular reviews and audits to identify areas for improvement and drive operational excellence.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, you will bring the following qualifications and experience to the table:

• Education: A bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related field. A master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., PMP, LEED) is highly desirable.
• Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in design management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role. Proven experience in managing large-scale design projects in the Middle East, particularly in KSA, is essential.
• Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, BIM 360) and project management tools. Familiarity with local regulations, codes, and standards in KSA is required.
• Leadership Skills: Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams. Strong problem-solving abilities and a results-driven mindset are critical.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; proficiency in Arabic is a plus. Ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and effectively to stakeholders at all levels.
• Cultural Awareness: A deep understanding of the cultural, economic, and regulatory landscape in KSA. Ability to navigate and adapt to the unique challenges and opportunities in the region.
