Role Overview

The Assistant IT Manager plays a pivotal role in maintaining the operational integrity, security, and efficiency of FTG Development’s IT infrastructure across its development, hospitality, and investment activities in the KSA Riyadh office. Reporting directly to the IT Manager, this position is responsible for overseeing daily IT operations, ensuring seamless service availability, and supporting the implementation of technology solutions that align with the Group’s strategic objectives. The role involves managing and optimizing IT systems, networks, and infrastructure while ensuring compliance with security policies and industry best practices. Additionally, the Assistant IT Manager will coordinate IT projects, foster strong vendor relationships, and contribute to the documentation and reporting of IT operations to support informed decision-making at the executive level.

Key Responsibilities

• Operational Oversight: Monitor and manage daily IT operations to ensure uninterrupted service availability, system performance, and reliability across all platforms and networks.
• Infrastructure Management: Provide hands-on administration and support for IT infrastructure, including servers, storage, virtualization platforms, and networking components, to maintain optimal performance and scalability.
• Project Coordination: Assist in the planning, execution, and monitoring of IT projects and technology implementations, ensuring alignment with business objectives and adherence to timelines and budgets.
• Security and Compliance: Enforce security policies, industry standards, and best practices to safeguard IT assets, data, and systems against cyber threats, unauthorized access, and compliance risks.
• Performance Optimization: Continuously analyze system performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement proactive measures to enhance efficiency, reliability, and user experience.
• Vendor and Partner Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with technology vendors, service providers, and partners to ensure timely delivery of high-quality IT solutions and support.
• Documentation and Reporting: Prepare comprehensive reports, technical documentation, and management presentations to communicate IT operational status, project progress, and strategic initiatives to stakeholders and leadership teams.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, complemented by a minimum of five years of progressive experience in IT infrastructure, systems administration, and network management. Prior experience in a supervisory or team-lead capacity is highly desirable. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong technical foundation in Windows Server administration, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365 services, along with a deep understanding of networking principles, virtualization, backup and disaster recovery strategies, and cybersecurity best practices. The ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and stakeholders while maintaining a focus on service continuity and security compliance is essential.

Required Technical Skills

• Expertise in Windows Server administration, Active Directory, and Group Policy management.
• Proficiency in administering Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, Intune, and Entra ID.
• Comprehensive knowledge of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching, VPNs, and wireless networks.
• Experience with virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere and Microsoft Hyper-V.
• Strong background in backup and disaster recovery management, firewall administration, and cybersecurity best practices.
• Hands-on experience with server, storage, and infrastructure management.

Preferred Qualifications

• Preference will be given to Saudi nationals, in accordance with Saudization (Nitaqat) requirements.
• Experience with cloud platforms, particularly Microsoft Azure, is a significant advantage.
• Relevant industry certifications, such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, VMware VCP, Cisco CCNA, ITIL, or recognized cybersecurity certifications, are highly valued.
• Prior experience supporting IT operations within the real estate, construction, or hospitality sectors is considered a plus.
