OS Administrator - Saudi National

Position Overview

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated OS Administrator – Saudi National to join our dynamic IT team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of robust Windows and Linux server environments. Your expertise will ensure the seamless operation of our enterprise infrastructure, supporting business continuity and system reliability.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing and optimizing our operating systems, including:

• System Installation & Configuration: Deploy and configure Windows and Linux servers to meet organizational requirements, ensuring optimal performance and security.
• Patch Management & Upgrades: Apply critical security patches, system updates, and upgrades in a timely manner to mitigate vulnerabilities and enhance system functionality.
• Performance Monitoring & Optimization: Proactively monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement corrective measures to maintain high availability and efficiency.
• Security Compliance & Hardening: Enforce security policies, conduct regular audits, and implement hardening measures to protect against cyber threats and ensure compliance with industry standards.
• User Access & Permissions Management: Administer user accounts, manage permissions, and enforce role-based access control (RBAC) to safeguard sensitive data and resources.
• Technical Support & Troubleshooting: Provide advanced Level 2 and Level 3 technical support, diagnosing and resolving complex system issues to minimize downtime and disruptions.
• Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of system configurations, changes, and troubleshooting steps to support knowledge sharing and compliance requirements.

Required Skills & Qualifications

To excel in this role, you must possess the following expertise and experience:

• Operating Systems: Proficiency in Windows Server and/or Linux administration, with a deep understanding of system architecture and best practices.
• Directory Services: Hands-on experience with Active Directory (AD) for user and group management, Group Policy Objects (GPOs), and domain services.
• Virtualization Technologies: Familiarity with virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere and Microsoft Hyper-V to manage and optimize virtualized environments.
• Scripting & Automation: Strong scripting skills in PowerShell and/or Bash to automate repetitive tasks, streamline operations, and enhance system efficiency.
• Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Experience with system monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix, SolarWinds) and a proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
• Security & Compliance: Knowledge of security frameworks, patch management processes, and compliance standards to ensure a secure and resilient IT environment.
• Communication & Collaboration: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and liaise with stakeholders across the organization.

Preferred Qualifications

While the above requirements are essential, candidates with the following additional qualifications will be highly regarded:

• Certifications such as MCSE, MCSA, RHCSA, or RHCE.
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with ITIL practices and service management frameworks.
