Key Responsibilities
As a Risk Manager at Parsons, you will be responsible for developing and implementing robust risk management frameworks tailored to our diverse portfolio of projects. Your core duties will include:
- Risk Identification and Assessment: Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential threats, including operational, financial, strategic, and compliance risks. Utilize advanced methodologies and tools to evaluate risk exposure and prioritize mitigation efforts.
- Risk Mitigation and Control: Design and implement effective risk mitigation strategies to minimize exposure and enhance resilience. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate risk controls into project planning and execution phases.
- Compliance and Governance: Ensure adherence to local and international regulatory requirements, industry standards, and Parsons’ internal policies. Monitor changes in legislation and regulatory frameworks to proactively adjust risk management practices.
- Reporting and Communication: Prepare detailed risk reports for senior management and stakeholders, highlighting key risks, trends, and mitigation progress. Facilitate transparent communication to foster a risk-aware culture across the organization.
- Emerging Risk Management: Stay ahead of emerging risks, including geopolitical, technological, and environmental factors, by conducting forward-looking analyses and scenario planning.
- Training and Awareness: Lead training sessions and workshops to enhance risk management awareness among employees, ensuring a unified approach to risk identification and response.
Qualifications and Experience
To excel in this role, you must possess the following qualifications and experience:
- Education: A bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Finance, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. Professional certifications such as Certified Risk Manager (CRM), Project Management Professional (PMP), or Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC) are highly desirable.
- Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in risk management, preferably within the engineering, construction, or infrastructure sectors. Experience in the Middle East, particularly Saudi Arabia, is a strong advantage.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in risk assessment tools, enterprise risk management (ERM) software, and data analytics platforms. Strong understanding of ISO 31000, COSO ERM frameworks, and other industry standards.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels and foster a collaborative risk management culture. Fluency in English is required; Arabic language proficiency is a plus.
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead risk management initiatives, mentor teams, and drive continuous improvement in risk practices.
