Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive General Physician (Clinical & Surgical Support) to join our expanding vascular and endovascular surgery team. This role offers a unique opportunity to engage in both clinical care and minor surgical procedures, making it an ideal fit for a physician who thrives in a dynamic, patient-centered environment. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with consultants to deliver comprehensive care, from initial consultations to postoperative follow-ups, ensuring a seamless patient experience across outpatient and inpatient settings.
Key Responsibilities
The General Physician will play a pivotal role in the following areas:
- Patient Assessment and Management: Conduct thorough evaluations of patients in outpatient clinics and inpatient wards, providing accurate diagnoses and treatment plans.
- Surgical and Procedural Support: Perform minor surgical and office-based procedures within the scope of practice, while assisting consultants during clinical assessments and selected surgical interventions as needed.
- Patient Coordination: Oversee the end-to-end patient care journey, including investigations, referrals, admissions, and follow-up appointments, ensuring continuity and efficiency.
- Preoperative and Postoperative Care: Conduct comprehensive assessments and manage patient care before and after surgical procedures, with a focus on optimizing outcomes and recovery.
- Patient Education: Provide clear and compassionate education to patients and their families regarding treatment plans, surgical procedures, and postoperative care requirements.
- Documentation and Compliance: Maintain meticulous medical records and ensure timely, accurate clinical documentation in adherence to regulatory standards.
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Foster effective communication and coordination with nursing staff, allied health professionals, and administrative teams to enhance patient flow and care delivery.
- Quality and Safety: Actively participate in quality improvement initiatives and uphold the highest standards of patient safety and clinical excellence.
Qualifications and Skills
To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Education: A recognized medical degree with valid licensure to practice as a General Physician.
- Experience: Proven experience in a hospital or surgical setting, with a strong foundation in clinical and minor surgical procedures.
- Technical Proficiency: Confidence in performing minor surgical interventions and familiarity with basic surgical techniques.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional organizational, communication, and interpersonal abilities to thrive in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Language Proficiency: Fluency in English is essential; proficiency in Arabic is considered an advantage.
Preferred Qualifications: Candidates with prior experience in surgery, vascular surgery, emergency medicine, or critical care will be highly regarded. Experience in patient coordination, case management, and electronic medical records (EMR) systems is also desirable.
