Key Responsibilities

• Platform Development & Maintenance: Design, develop, and deploy robust e-commerce solutions using modern technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.js. Ensure the platform is scalable, secure, and optimized for performance.
• Backend Integration: Collaborate with backend developers to integrate payment gateways, inventory management systems, CRM tools, and third-party APIs. Develop and maintain RESTful or GraphQL APIs to facilitate smooth data flow between systems.
• User Experience Enhancement: Work closely with UX/UI designers to implement intuitive and visually appealing interfaces that enhance customer engagement and conversion rates. Conduct usability testing and gather feedback to refine the platform continuously.
• Performance Optimization: Analyze website performance metrics, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to improve load times, responsiveness, and overall user satisfaction. Utilize tools like Google PageSpeed Insights and Lighthouse for optimization.
• Security & Compliance: Ensure the e-commerce platform adheres to industry best practices for security, including PCI DSS compliance, data encryption, and protection against vulnerabilities such as SQL injection and cross-site scripting (XSS). Regularly audit and update security protocols.
• Collaboration & Leadership: Partner with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, and IT, to align e-commerce strategies with business objectives. Mentor junior developers and contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives within the team.
• Testing & Quality Assurance: Develop and execute comprehensive test plans to validate functionality, usability, and security. Utilize automated testing tools and frameworks to ensure code reliability and minimize post-deployment issues.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in e-commerce development, such as headless commerce, progressive web apps (PWAs), and AI-driven personalization. Propose and implement innovative solutions to enhance platform capabilities.

Qualifications & Skills

To excel in this role, candidates must possess a blend of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a customer-centric mindset. The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced degrees or relevant certifications in e-commerce development or digital commerce are advantageous.
• Technical Proficiency: Proven experience in full-stack e-commerce development, with expertise in frontend frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js) and backend technologies (e.g., Node.js, Python, PHP). Familiarity with databases such as MySQL, MongoDB, or PostgreSQL is essential.
• E-commerce Platforms: Hands-on experience with popular e-commerce platforms like Magento, Shopify, WooCommerce, or custom-built solutions. Knowledge of headless commerce architectures is a plus.
• Version Control & DevOps: Proficiency in Git and experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions) to streamline development workflows. Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is desirable.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in a team environment. Strong analytical abilities to troubleshoot complex issues and a passion for delivering high-quality digital experiences.
• Language Proficiency: Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Arabic is a valuable asset for seamless communication within the Saudi market.
