About the Role

Danone MENA is seeking a dynamic and knowledgeable Healthcare Nutrition Specialist (Medical Representative) to join our team in Makkah, Saudi Arabia. In this pivotal role within the Specialized Nutrition Middle East division, you will play a critical part in expanding the market share of our specialized nutrition brands by fostering strong, science-based relationships with healthcare professionals (HCPs). Your mission will be to ensure HCP satisfaction and loyalty by addressing their healthcare nutrition needs and positioning our solutions as the preferred choice in the region.

Key Responsibilities

As a Healthcare Nutrition Specialist, your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of strategic and operational tasks designed to drive brand growth and enhance market presence. Your core duties will include:

  • Scientific Engagement and Relationship Building:
    • Conduct regular visits to hospitals, health clinics, private clinics, and private hospitals to establish and nurture strong, science-based relationships with HCPs.
    • Position Danone’s specialized nutrition solutions as the preferred choice among HCPs through compelling, evidence-based discussions.
    • Ensure that all HCPs, including doctors, key opinion leaders (KOLs), and other stakeholders, receive accurate, up-to-date information and clinical studies about our products.
    • Demonstrate the clinical benefits and advantages of our solutions to HCPs through detailed presentations and discussions.
    • Organize and lead scientific audio-visual meetings tailored to the needs of HCPs.
  • Area Management and Strategic Planning:
    • Identify and evaluate business opportunities within your assigned area to develop and implement effective business initiatives and tactics that unlock the full potential of the market.
    • Implement and maintain a structured "weekly call cycle" in close coordination with your direct manager to ensure consistent engagement with HCPs.
    • Monitor competitive activities and develop proactive strategies to counter competitive threats, safeguarding and enhancing our market position.
    • Maintain an in-depth understanding of our product portfolio to confidently address inquiries and provide comprehensive product information to HCPs.
    • Address customer queries and complaints promptly and professionally to maintain high levels of satisfaction.
    • Review and align business plans with cycle objectives on a quarterly basis in collaboration with the Head of KSA.
    • Compile and submit detailed reports on promotional activities in accordance with established formats and schedules.
    • Ensure all business activities comply with the WHO and local government ethical guidelines for infant formula products.
    • Organize and participate in seminars and educational activities focused on nutrition to further engage and inform HCPs.
    • Manage daily database activities and adhere to all administrative procedures and processes.
    • Achieve and exceed assigned qualitative and quantitative key performance indicators (KPIs) on a daily, monthly, and yearly basis.
  • Team Collaboration and Market Intelligence:
    • Participate in daily and/or weekly team meetings to discuss market dynamics, challenges, and performance against monthly KPIs.
    • Support the planning and execution of seminars and events to enhance brand visibility and engagement.
    • Collect and analyze intelligence on the HCP landscape, including identifying new contacts and mapping decision-making networks in the region.
    • Monitor competitor activities, including consumer offers, medical conferences, and roundtables, and report findings to management.
    • Conduct face-to-face medical detailing calls and maintain ongoing engagement with targeted HCPs across your geographical area.
    • Update competitor intelligence and input data into the company’s database to inform strategic decision-making.
    • Record and report on call visits and progress against set objectives to ensure transparency and accountability.
    • Attend and actively participate in internal meetings as required to align with team and organizational goals.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and competencies:

  • Education and Experience:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Medicine, Pharmacy, or Dietetics.
    • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
    • Prior experience in the nutrition field is highly desirable.
    • Experience working with Primary Healthcare Centers is considered a strong asset.
