Position Overview
Associazione Shalom IT is seeking a dedicated and skilled Non-Profit IT Coordinator to join our team in Mecca. This role is pivotal in ensuring the seamless operation of our organization's technological infrastructure while aligning IT initiatives with our mission to promote peace, education, and community development. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical expertise and a passion for non-profit work, enabling them to support our diverse programs and stakeholders effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Management: Oversee the maintenance, upgrading, and security of all IT systems, including hardware, software, networks, and cloud services. Ensure minimal downtime and optimal performance to support daily operations.
- Technical Support: Provide first-level and advanced technical support to staff, volunteers, and beneficiaries, troubleshooting hardware, software, and connectivity issues. Serve as the primary point of contact for IT-related inquiries and escalate complex issues as needed.
- Data Management & Security: Implement and enforce data protection policies to safeguard sensitive information, ensuring compliance with local and international regulations. Manage databases, backups, and disaster recovery plans to mitigate risks.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with program teams to integrate IT solutions that enhance efficiency and impact. Collaborate with external partners, including vendors and service providers, to procure and deploy cost-effective technology solutions.
- Training & Capacity Building: Develop and deliver training sessions to empower staff and volunteers with essential IT skills. Foster a culture of digital literacy within the organization to maximize the use of available tools.
- Budget Oversight: Assist in the planning and management of the IT budget, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently to meet organizational goals. Identify opportunities for cost savings and grant applications to support IT initiatives.
- Innovation & Sustainability: Research and recommend emerging technologies that can improve operational efficiency and program delivery. Advocate for sustainable IT practices, such as energy-efficient hardware and e-waste reduction.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Cisco, Microsoft) are a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in IT support, systems administration, or a similar role, preferably within a non-profit or community-based organization. Experience with CRM systems, project management tools, and cybersecurity best practices is advantageous.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux), networking, virtualization, and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure). Familiarity with database management and cybersecurity frameworks is essential.
- Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities, strong communication skills, and a customer-service-oriented mindset. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- Language: Fluency in English and Arabic is required. Additional languages are a valuable asset.
