Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Clinical Coder to join our dynamic healthcare team in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In this permanent role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring accurate and efficient medical coding, which is essential for billing, reimbursement, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in healthcare sciences, relevant coding certifications, and hands-on experience in ICD-10-AM/ACHI/ACS coding across multiple medical specialties.

Key Responsibilities

• Medical Coding Excellence: Accurately assign ICD-10-AM, ACHI, and ACS codes to patient records based on clinical documentation, ensuring adherence to coding standards and regulatory requirements.
• Specialty Expertise: Apply coding expertise across a diverse range of medical specialties, including General Medicine, Surgery, Trauma & Orthopedics, Pediatrics, Cardiology, and Obstetrics, to maintain precision in complex cases.
• AR-DRG Classification: Demonstrate a thorough understanding of AR-DRG (Australian Refined Diagnosis Related Groups) billing classifications to support accurate reimbursement and financial reporting.
• Compliance & Standards: Stay updated with evolving clinical coding standards, regulations, and best practices to ensure full compliance with national and international healthcare guidelines.
• Continuous Professional Development: Engage in ongoing education and training to enhance coding skills, including participation in workshops, certifications, and industry conferences.
• Documentation Review: Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify and improve clinical documentation, ensuring it aligns with coding requirements for optimal accuracy and reimbursement outcomes.
• Quality Assurance: Conduct regular audits of coded records to identify trends, discrepancies, or areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions as needed.

Qualifications & Experience

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Educational Background: A degree in MBBS, BDS, BPT, BSc Nursing, or a related healthcare, paramedical, or life science field. Alternative qualifications in healthcare administration or medical technology will also be considered.
• Certification Requirements: Hold a recognized clinical coding certification, such as HIMAA (CC1, CC2, or CC3), AHIMA CCS, eHIF (CC1, CC2, or CC3), AAPC (CCP-KSA), or the SHC Clinical Coding Technician Certificate. Additional certification in ICD-10-AM training is highly desirable if not already included in the primary certification.
• Professional Experience: A minimum of one year of hands-on experience in ICD-10-AM/ACHI/ACS coding, with exposure to diverse medical specialties and complex cases.
• Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems, coding software, and healthcare information management platforms.
• Analytical Skills: Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and the ability to interpret clinical documentation accurately to assign appropriate codes.
• Communication & Collaboration: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to liaise effectively with healthcare providers, billing teams, and administrative staff.
