Business Unit Overview

The AI Centre of Excellence (AI CoE) is the driving force behind our AI strategy, product development, and scalable solutions. As the central hub for AI governance, the CoE establishes standards, manages costs, and mitigates risks while overseeing AI Factory squads tasked with designing and deploying custom AI solutions and reusable frameworks. These include LLM and RAG stacks, Azure integrations, and technical consultations on architecture, solution design, and best practices. Additionally, the CoE spearheads workforce transformation through targeted training and upskilling initiatives, accelerating AI adoption across all lines of service.

Operating within IFS, the AI CoE collaborates closely with Experience Design and adjacent technology teams, adhering to a codified operating model and RACI framework for streamlined approvals and observability. The CoE supports proposals, demos, and delivery with a focus on delivering distinctive outcomes and maintaining trusted leadership in the AI landscape.

How You’ll Contribute

As an AI Frontend Engineer, you will join a team of forward-thinking problem solvers, playing a key role in bringing our AI products to life—from strategic vision to execution. Your responsibilities will include:

• Development of Production-Grade Applications: Build and maintain single-page applications using React/Next.js, TypeScript, and modern state management solutions such as Redux, Zustand, or React Query.
• Design System Integration: Implement components that align with our design system, contributing to tokens, theming, and right-to-left (RTL) support for Arabic language compatibility.
• AI Backend Integration: Develop seamless integrations with AI backends via REST, GraphQL, and WebSocket protocols to enable chat functionalities, retrieval operations, and agent-driven actions. Handle streaming tokens and manage long-running tasks efficiently.
• Security and Authentication: Implement robust authentication flows, role-based access controls, and secure front-end patterns, including OAuth/OIDC, token refresh mechanisms, and mitigations against CSRF and clickjacking attacks.
• Quality Assurance: Contribute to code quality through unit, integration, and end-to-end testing using tools such as Jest, Testing Library, Playwright, or Cypress.
• Performance Optimization: Enhance application performance through techniques like code splitting, memoization, and lazy loading. Instrument UX telemetry using Web Vitals to gather data for iterative improvements.
• CI/CD and Deployment: Participate in continuous integration and deployment pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions. Engage in release trains, feature flag management, and canary rollouts to ensure smooth and controlled deployments.
• Collaboration with UX Teams: Partner with UX designers to conduct usability tests and iterate on designs, providing engineering insights to enhance feasibility and performance.
• Documentation and Code Reviews: Document front-end patterns and component APIs, and actively participate in code reviews to elevate the overall quality of the codebase.
• Continuous Learning: Stay abreast of emerging front-end and AI tools, continuously expanding your skill set to drive innovation and excellence.

What You’ll Bring

Experience

• 1–3 years of professional front-end development experience, with a proven track record of building and shipping web applications.
• Hands-on experience integrating front-end systems with APIs and AI or data services.

Education & Certifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.

Technical Skills & Specialized Knowledge

• Proficiency in front-end development with React/Next.js, TypeScript, and modern state management libraries.
• Exposure to back-end technologies such as Node.js or Python (FastAPI/NestJS/Express) for building APIs that support AI workloads.
• Understanding of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and Large Language Model (LLM) orchestration principles.
• Familiarity with testing frameworks, performance optimization techniques, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with authentication protocols, security best practices, and RTL language support.
