Key Responsibilities

The Senior Java Developer will be responsible for leading the development lifecycle of enterprise-grade applications while ensuring adherence to best practices, scalability, and performance. Your core duties will include:

• Application Development: Design, develop, and maintain high-quality Java-based applications using frameworks such as Spring Boot, Hibernate, and Jakarta EE, ensuring robust functionality and seamless integration with third-party systems.
• System Architecture: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and refine system architectures, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical feasibility. Optimize application performance through efficient coding practices and architectural improvements.
• Code Review & Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough code reviews to uphold coding standards, identify potential issues, and mentor junior developers. Implement automated testing frameworks to ensure application reliability and minimize technical debt.
• Database Management: Design and optimize database schemas, write efficient SQL queries, and integrate with databases such as Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL. Ensure data integrity, security, and performance across all applications.
• API Development & Integration: Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices to facilitate seamless communication between systems. Integrate with external APIs and third-party services to enhance application functionality.
• Cloud & DevOps Practices: Leverage cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud to deploy and scale applications. Implement CI/CD pipelines to streamline development workflows and ensure rapid, reliable delivery of software updates.
• Collaboration & Leadership: Work closely with product managers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
• Security & Compliance: Ensure applications comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements, such as GDPR, ISO 27001, or local data protection laws. Implement security best practices to safeguard sensitive data and protect against vulnerabilities.

Qualifications & Skills

To excel in this role, you must possess the following qualifications and competencies:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or relevant certifications (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional, Spring Professional) are highly desirable.
• Technical Proficiency: Extensive experience with Java (SE 8+), Spring Framework (Boot, MVC, Security), and related technologies. Proficiency in Hibernate/JPA, RESTful APIs, and microservices architecture is essential.
• Database Expertise: Strong knowledge of relational databases (Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra). Experience with database optimization and query tuning is a plus.
• Cloud & DevOps: Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and DevOps tools (Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Terraform). Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana) is advantageous.
• Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities, strong communication skills, and the capacity to work effectively in a collaborative, Agile/Scrum environment. Leadership qualities and the ability to mentor junior team members are highly valued.
• Language Proficiency: Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Arabic is a plus but not mandatory.
• Work Authorization: Eligibility to work in Saudi Arabia with a valid work visa or sponsorship.
