Communication (COM) Supervisor

Mission & Purpose

As a Communication (COM) Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the COM & SCADA Manager by ensuring operational and safety priorities are met while aligning with broader business objectives. Your responsibilities will encompass overseeing asset maintenance, troubleshooting complex issues, and upholding stringent quality standards across all maintenance activities. This role is instrumental in maintaining the safety, reliability, and compliance of our assets throughout their lifecycle, while also fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.

Key Responsibilities

In this dynamic and challenging position, your core duties will include:

• Asset Maintenance & Strategy Oversight: Provide leadership in asset maintenance, maintenance planning, and asset strategy development, with a focus on predictive and condition-based maintenance for COM & SCADA systems.
• Maintenance Execution & Quality Assurance: Ensure adherence to maintenance plans, work orders, and manuals while maintaining the highest quality standards during execution. Review CMMS logs and attachments to verify compliance with best practices.
• Team Leadership & Development: Support the hiring, training, and assessment of team members, fostering ongoing professional development to enhance team capabilities and performance.
• Technical Support & Incident Management: Collaborate with the COM & SCADA Manager and technical leadership to conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Incident Reporting for faults, failures, and operational disruptions.
• Documentation & Process Compliance: Contribute to the creation, review, modification, and approval of maintenance documentation, design drawings, and related technical documents. Ensure all change management processes are thoroughly reviewed to mitigate operational risks.
• Safety & Compliance Leadership: Champion safety protocols by ensuring correct tooling usage, distributing safety/quality briefs, and conducting toolbox talks. Prioritize the well-being of all team members while maintaining compliance with metro standards and regulatory requirements.
• Procurement & Technical Analysis: Support procurement teams by providing technical analysis for Requests for Quotation (RFQs), developing Bills of Materials, and offering clarifications during tender processes. Explore alternative equipment manufacturers to enhance localization efforts in Saudi Arabia, with a focus on improving quality and reducing costs.
• Deputization & Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a deputy to the COM & SCADA Manager or Head of Transit Systems, supporting them in various tasks as required. Build and maintain strong relationships with multidisciplinary teams to drive cohesive and efficient operations.

Qualifications & Experience

To excel in this role, you will possess the following qualifications and experience:

• Education: A Technical Diploma is the minimum requirement, though a degree in Engineering is highly desirable. Additional certifications in Lean or Six Sigma will be considered a strong asset.
• Industry Experience: A minimum of 5 years of system-related experience in the rail, aviation, or transportation sector is essential. Prior experience in a supervisory or leadership role for at least 3 years is required.
• Technical & Analytical Skills: Proven experience in developing Bills of Materials, participating in procurement processes, and providing technical clarifications during competitive tenders. Strong background in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) is critical.
• Leadership & Influence: Demonstrated ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all organizational levels, including providing input to senior management teams. Experience in predictive analysis and asset lifecycle management is highly valued.
