Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to join our dynamic team in Riyadh. This full-time, on-site position plays a critical role in supporting our laboratory operations by performing a wide range of routine and specialized tests with precision and efficiency. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining advanced laboratory equipment, preparing and processing specimens according to established protocols, and ensuring the highest standards of quality control and safety. This role requires a proactive approach to troubleshooting, meticulous documentation, and seamless collaboration with cross-functional teams to maintain the integrity of our diagnostic processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Test Execution: Conduct routine and specialized laboratory tests, including hematology, chemistry, microbiology, and immunology, while adhering to standardized protocols and quality assurance guidelines.
• Equipment Management: Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment to ensure optimal performance and accuracy. Perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot technical issues, and report any malfunctions or deviations promptly.
• Specimen Handling: Prepare, label, and store biological specimens according to strict protocols to preserve sample integrity and prevent contamination. Ensure proper chain of custody and documentation throughout the process.
• Quality Control: Monitor and verify the accuracy of test results through rigorous quality control procedures. Identify and document any irregularities, deviations, or anomalies, and take corrective action as needed to maintain compliance with regulatory standards.
• Safety and Compliance: Strictly adhere to laboratory safety protocols, infection control measures, and hazardous material handling guidelines. Promote a culture of safety and ensure all team members follow established procedures to minimize risks and maintain a secure work environment.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and detailed records of test results, equipment maintenance, and quality control checks. Generate and submit reports in a timely manner to support clinical decision-making and regulatory compliance.
• Collaboration and Workflow Support: Work closely with laboratory supervisors, pathologists, and clinical staff to streamline workflows, optimize processes, and ensure the timely delivery of diagnostic results. Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Education: A diploma or bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Biology, Chemistry, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
• Experience: Proven experience as a Laboratory Technician or in a similar clinical laboratory role, with hands-on expertise in performing diagnostic tests and operating laboratory equipment.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures, quality control standards, and best practices in specimen handling and processing. Familiarity with laboratory information systems (LIS) and electronic health records (EHR) is a plus.
• Analytical Skills: Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to interpret test results accurately, identify discrepancies, and troubleshoot technical issues efficiently.
• Safety and Compliance: In-depth understanding of laboratory safety protocols, infection control measures, and regulatory requirements, including OSHA and ISO standards.
• Soft Skills: Excellent organizational abilities, time management skills, and the capacity to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential for collaborating with colleagues and supporting clinical operations.
• Certification: Professional certification or licensure in laboratory sciences (e.g., MLT, MLS) is highly desirable, where applicable.
